One side note of the situation has been how often “ Damar” has been misspelled in the media accounts I’ve seen these past few days. Most frequent has been the addition of an extra “r” (Darmar or Damarr)

Well, not the most common name--and when they were both Pitt Panthers, I tended to get Damar Hamlin and Damarri Mathis mixed up.

It's a national story, that has turned out good so far, so of course the President will call. It would be true for Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush, etc.

Biden called damar’s family yesterday - when things were still unknown.

I watched the UC Hospital Press conference and its amazing that we have individuals as talented as these folks. Also, the pre-planning and response by the NFL/Bills/Bengals saved his life. We all trash the NFL over player welfare but hearing about the staff on hand to deal with this was incredible. There was even airway specialist on hand to help him on the field. The NFL gets a lot of credit here. But then I wonder why didnt the pads cover his chest. They have to look at that. With proper padding, a collision shouldn't cause that.

You have no idea what you are talking about. BTW, they haven't determined what the cause was, yet.

They haven't determined a cause. However, if it ends up being commotio cortis, one would think that shoulder pads should be made to come further down over the chest, not just to prevent this rare injury but also to protect your ribs.
