I know in the scheme of things it is probably not that big of a deal in the outcome of the game...but why the hell did Pitt take three timeouts to the locker room on Saturday? There is like 45 seconds to go when Notre Dame takes possession on their own three. You know they are going to run the ball three times and they got two yards on first down...Two more stops and Pitt gets the ball at around midfield with 25 seconds or so to go... If Notre Dame gets a first down they are still running out the half anyways...

Think it was more like 30 some seconds. Regardless, it would have been pretty hard to get the balI back with any meaningful time even with three quick stops.

The bigger issue is that Pitt's offense has only been able to score 3 points in the first half of each of the past two games. That is just abysmal.

Questionable but I more disagreed with kicking deep with like 7 minutes or something left and down big and also using a timeout before the onsides kick which only left us with one.

Nope....42 seconds looked it up and remember it from the game...Chance at three run stops (especially after the 3 yard gain on first down). A chance at three run stops and a punt from the end zone leaving pitt with 25 seconds near midfield...meaningful enough (time enough for three passes to get into field goal range) in my book to use the timeouts......

Looking back, I see your point. In real time, I was hoping the half would click away as fast as possible the way Pitt was getting gashed.
