Prediction on Elon

I suspect that some time this summer President Trump will announce that Elon is going back to the private sector after “doing an amazing job with …”.

Turning over the cuts within each department back to the Secretaries and specifically saying “scalpel” indicates to me that even in DJT’s eyes Elon overstepped.

Having worked in the Federal system I didn’t have as much of a problem with what he was trying to do than maybe others did. I too often had been involved in the effort to cut the budget by ten percent and saw upper management just deflect until they didn’t need to do anything.

DOGE's work is already completed. They successfully killed all 18 IG investigations into his business dealing, removed all his fines and gutted the watchdogs.

My prediction, Leon is going to need a pardon.

I predict that Elon will be scapegoated once Trump is done with him. Elon's a smart guy, zero ability to understand human behavior. He is being set up for a fall. I'll enjoy it when it comes, but in a small way, I'll feel a little sorry for him.

Elons primary goal is space-x and ensuring increased population growth. He could care less about what people think of him. He wants a mars colony to preserve life after the apocalypse on earth.

Yes, this. Elon will cut something that doesn't go over well and he will have to go bye bye.

If you're primary goal is to save humans, then wouldn't that be "the end justifies the means?" Seems pretty dangerous if that is someone's goal.

I’ll pray for you.

Correct. He is with DOGE to help the country survive long enough for that to happen.

dont feel sorry for elon, he will be ok..

I get that he'll be ok. But I'm guessing he'll be a pariah for both sides of the political spectrum at some point in the future.
i dont know, he would have to burn alot of bridges and do a complete 180 to get any anger from the right. i mean the real right, not the neocon - rinos..

Vivek didn't cut anything, either. One comment and he had to exit stage left.

The best entertainment in the last year was the Twitter spaces where Vivek keep telling the maga marks that they were too stupid to get technology jobs in the U.S. and we need more immigrants.

And Leon, using a voice modulator to the same marks said that "Elon, was really a good guy". Then he drops the fake voice and doubles down on telling them that they are too stupid for technology jobs in the U.S....and we need more immigrants.

i wasnt a fan of trump and elon's stance to bring in illegal indians for entry level software and coding jobs, because they are cheaper..

was a slap in the face of Americans so i agree with you on the pushback they got on that angle.

Elon paid $280 million to have play time with the government. He will leave when is ready and not a moment before. He's the most powerful man on Earth.

No. I think he got the boot for making a weird and foolish statement on Twitter. The Ohio thing allows him to exit gracefully.
wait, so he's just running for governor in ohio as an excuse to save face for a comment he made on social media??

Man, that seems a tad of an over reaction, doesnt it?

There is only room at the top for Trump or Elon. I don't believe that Trump will go quietly nor do I believe MAGA will support Elon if and when Trump decides to dump him.

The sense I got was that he was no longer welcome. Wasn't going to be involved with DOGE or with the administration, and so OH Gov was his graceful exit.

I could be wrong. Might have always been the plan, but I kind of doubt it.

maybe, who knows. feel like having two heads of a dept, isnt a good idea. any two people will be stepping on each other's toes, especially if one of them is the richest man in the world with an ego to match..

was a weird dynamic to even try to make work. i really like vivek though, outside of his horrible take on the hb1 visa importing of indians for cheap labor though.

Seems like a nice guy, but did he create value for the economy, or is he more of a con artist? He talks really well, though. Probably how he got investors to invest.

He's a con artist who made his money from a pump and dump/rug pull on a miracle cure for Alzheimer's. The H1B comments should have been the nail in the coffin for whatever political career he envisioned pursuing, but I guess we'll see what happens in the Ohio run.

importing third world garbage to fill American jobs because you can pay them less is not a good strategy..

these werent even highly skilled positions but entry and mid level programmers where you have tens of thousands of unemployed people in this country who have the education and experience to more than fill these positions.

with elon ok, you need a top .1% person to colonize mars, fine, open up your search global. dont give me this crap with entry level prorgrammers though.

Yeah i get it, they live 15 to a house and you can pay them 50% less, p*ss off with that nonsense and HIRE AMERICANS

I don't think it will go well in Ohio for him, based mainly on those comments. It's going to be a real problem for him here both from other Rs or from Dems.

you may not like the business strategy but it's being done, been done and will continue in businesses that can get away with it which includes many small to medium sized ones all over the US but mostly in ones within commuting distance to urban pockets where they live

its not even a contest.

Ramaswamy had support from 61 percent of Republican respondents, while Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost placed second at 24 percent. No other candidates polled in the double digits

Yeah I am not really following, but I don't think those polls matter much right now. Once the Rs realize running Vivek in the general election could open the door for a more moderate blue collar type Dem, it could spell doom for Vivek. Dens will spend millions blasting his stupid twitter comments on tv.

Vivek left DOGE because he felt it would hurt him in his Senate race and he was right. He's a smart guy. Elon is smart also but he isnt a politician so he doesn't need to be liked.

I think Vivek signed up for DOGE because he thought it’d look good for him, because who doesn’t like government efficiency? That should look good and serve as a credential booster for anyone involved. Republicans and Democrats can agree that the government should be efficient, even if they disagree on how to get there and how expansive that government should be. But I think even most Democrats can agree that they want an efficient government, just one that’s more expansive than Republicans want.

Then I think Vivek got there and realized how, I don’t know, oafish? the whole thing was primed to be. Even if you agree with the purported goals, I think most people can probably agree that the execution has been pretty slapdash and amateurish. I think he correctly diagnosed that the implementation by Elon and the DOGE whiz kids would end up being deeply unpopular and damaging for his political future, so he dipped out. I think Vivek is smart, even if I disagree with him about too many things to count.

The idea of it may have been at first but the richest man in the world firing people making 50K/year, a high percentage of veterans, is extremely bad optics. Elon's approval rating is terrible.

I don't know. I think at worst it's an even split. In Ohio, that means it will be more favorable.
