All right, guys and gals, it's time to go on the record:
What's Pitt's record going to be this year?
And, as a sub-topic, what do you think Pitt's record should be this season?
Second question first: I think Pitt is good enough to go 9-2. I believe they have the talent to play with and beat just about everybody on their schedule. To have a season that I would call a success, I think they need to get to Charlotte, and to do that, I think they'll have to go 8-2 in ACC play. I believe they are capable of that.
But I'm guessing it doesn't happen. I imagine that Pitt will go 4-0 against Syracuse, N.C. State, Georgia Tech and Boston College, 0-2 against Clemson and Notre Dame and 3-1 against Virginia Tech, Louisville, Miami and Florida State (or possibly 2-2 against those teams and balance it with a win over Notre Dame). If that happens, it would be a pretty good season, one of Pitt's better seasons in recent memory, but it probably won't be enough to get to the ACC Championship Game.
So I'm saying 8-3. What's your call?
