Problem isn't Cade Bell.

Bell needed to find more balance early in the game. Ridiculous pass:run ratio and it wasn’t working. Also, everything else was true but Bell isn’t doing a good job right now.

The play calling is atrocious
Stop it

We never even tried to establish a running game

I've really become disappointed in the offense and specifically Bell. Grant it and OC would struggle with this o-line, but this isn't the same offense we saw at the beginning of the year. What happened to play fast score faster? Literally every play they are all looking to the sideline for a play and not snapping until under 10 on play clock. Heck we even got a delay of game coming off a kick return! Tempo is gone; tried it a little. I think it was the series Eli got hurt. Were starting to get a little rhythm on that drive and then suddenly the injury and that was all she wrote.

EDIT: Also, PLEASE DO NOT RUN DES REID UP THE MIDDLE ON 3RD AND SHORT. IT WILL NEVER WORK!!

Yarnell might have thrown 2 pics but he is more sure of himself than Eli is of himself, it looks like Eli is a nervous wreck out there, undecisive, looks more he plays the more he looks like a freshman

This offense only works if it plays fast. Every penalty is like a defensive time out. Pitt absolutley needs to play clean for it to work.

It hasn't played fast in 4 games now. I don't know if it is deer in the headlights now that the conference schedule has started, but Bell has been pretty bad and Eli and everyone else has regressed.

But what is Kade Bell‘s fault is the predictability of this offense because of the lack of imagination with formations, and you can only do so many things out of that spread offense. Why I hate the spread because after the gimmick is scouted and found out your players, gonna have to learn how to actually play real football, which means executing, which means blocking running and tackling….. not just rushing to the line of scrimmage, hoping to catch the defense out of position.

I blame Kade Bell for not getting his guys to line up properly and execute a play. The most predictable thing about this offense is it will get flagged once or twice a possession for stupid shit. That's easy to defend.

Nobody plays fast anymore because you can talk to the quarterback until 15 seconds on the play clock so coaches want to basically play the game for the quarterback.

Number three is an offense that cannot succeed with offensive penalties.
Personally I think this has to do with NOT running tempo. They’re waiting too long after being conditioned all year to go so quickly and get rid of the ball… it’s taken them out of what was supposed to be the new system and they move early , false starts etc…

The question is….why.

I thought the one good drive Pitt had where we scored was hurry up. Could never get back to it. On Reid up the middle not with this o line. Carter should be getting many more carries.

Because other teams watch tape too-
The gimmick doesn’t work and clearly we aren’t able to
Communicate plays .
We took a delay of game on first down after a change of possession .
Reminds me of last year when that happened frequently .

Maybe Narduzzi can write “pay attention to the game and get ready , moron !” In his little notepad.

A delay of game on first down after a change of possession was Cignetti type incompetence .

It was and I said so at the time

The abandonment makes zero sense and the slow Cignetti pace is allowing defense more time to … defend basically… there’s nothing to throw them off in the slightest

Bell has been scouted and exposed.

Yeah but he schemed up plenty of wide open looks. Average throws and catches would have gotten it done and we didn’t get that.

It should have been a 30 point output just doing the basics - with upside of someone actually did some spectacular things.

That’s mostly on the QB that people for whom people were begging to go in.

I blame the coaches for the slow start. We looked sluggish and unmotivated

As the game went on, the coaches did fine. Louis’s interception was a fantastic design where it looked like he was rushing than dropped back. And like I said - plenty of plays left out there on offense where guys were schemed wide open.

People love to blame the coach because it’s a simplier explanation for their team sucking. But the fact was, our players left plays out there all game.

I can’t believe Williams would have made it back onto the field if Saban was coach. Forced off script the first play of the game. That’s why you take the ball. Oh it’s not just Saban. Just an example.

Relatively early in the game, Eli had 16 pass attempts, 6 rushes, and the running backs combined for something like 7 carries. That is 22 pass attempts to 7 rushes...a terrible ratio for a struggling QB. However, as the game progressed, a lot of plays were there and they are failing because every aspect of the offense isn't playing well.

The line isn't giving Holstein protection and he's developed happy feet. He doesn't trust himself to make the initial reads and is scrambling with yards in front of him, but he wants to make plays down field. He missed receivers due to terrible footwork and when he made some good throws, they dropped the ball. There isn't a single playmaker at the receiver position who can take over the game. They won't use any of the other running backs, just the smallest guy on the field.

This offense can get back to playing well, not elite, but well. There are just failures at every level and until one or two of those areas step up, it will continue to struggle.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Holstein is done for the year, then goes into portal. Rinse and repeat for Pitt. 2025 will be Narduzzi’s last year. Unless Pitt wants to be a poor man’s Iowa.

The play in front of the students where they split Carter out to the sideline and ran Yarnell was brilliant.

The Des Reid delayed handoffs into the scrum have not worked for a while.

That was one of the worst losses we have ever had at home. It was a must-win. I was hopeful that we could finish 2-2 but, now that is up in the air.

Just bad.

Bell is doing his job.
My problem is that he is a one trick pony,
1st down plays are horrible, not just this game, most of the games, loss of yardage, etc. He seems to think hurrying to the line as soon as a 1st down is acquired is some cure all, but defenses are used to it, so many teams do it, plus all the shifting etc.,(not so much this week) the defenses are barely moving or adjusting and then stuffing the plays, he is gaining little advantage with all those bells and whistles, in the mean time this offensive pre-snap movement is good for at least one penalty a half, start out 1st and 15.

All that pressure all night, how many times did he call plays that moved the pocket for example? I think "0", so the opposing d line t's off knowing exactly where the the aiming point is.

etc., etc.

That should be Daniel Carters job every time with Overton at the FB position.
