With all the talk about procedure penalties - after admittedly a very bad game on that front - here's what this season has looked like on a game-by-game basis.

False starts/illegal formations/illegal shifts/delay of game penalties on Pitt's offense:

Kent State - 0

Cincinnati - 0

West Virginia - 3 false starts (Taylor, Mumpfield, K. Johnson)

Youngstown State - 2 false starts (Enos, unspecified), 1 illegal formation

North Carolina - 1 false start (Lee)

Cal - 0

Syracuse - 0

SMU - 1 false start (Cooper)

Virginia - 2 false starts (R. Williams, Enos), 1 illegal shift, 1 delay of game

Clemson - 3 false starts (Collier, BJ Williams Bartholomew), 1 illegal formation, 1 delay of game

So that's 17 total procedure penalties on Pitt's offense through 10 games - with 9 of them coming in the last two games. I don't think that uptick in procedure penalties is unconnected to the changes in personnel, particularly at quarterback (where a new voice can change how the cadence is perceived) and on the offensive line.
