Trump is crushing records for numbers of executive orders signed as he continues to try to make the government an autocracy. Not just big government. Massive government. Government control over everything in your life. There's even an executive order for shower heads. In some ways, Democrats have to be licking their chops because Trump has provided the road map for government control over everything and there's things they can now do that didn't attempt to in the past.
I'll give you an example. Candace Owens said she is rooting for Harvard because Trump is attacking free speech and she is afraid if Dems get in, they will go overboard with their own attacks on free speech including against her.
Here's another: If a Dem wins in 2029, he will likely mandate that Space X, Tesla, and other government contractors as well as all universities who receive federal funds and all school districts have DEI programs. Mandate that transgenders be allowed to play. Oh, some school in deep red WV or Mississippi won't let a transgender play? No federal funding. Space X won't install a closely-monitored DEI program, no contracts for you.
I'm not saying any of this is right but Trump has gone way too far with executive power overreach and had made himself historically unpopular in doing so.
I saw a post of potential "Project 2029" ideas
- taxing mega churches as political entities
- banning states with right to work laws (anti-union) from getting federal funding
- mandatory DEI for schools and contractors
- mandatory pro-transgender compliance
