Obviously this could change with news from Xavier Johnson or Malik Ellison, but I was thinking about this yesterday. With the Trey McGowens commitment, Jeff Capel can now run a respectable starting five of McGowens, Kham Davis, Jared Wilson-Frame, Shamiel Stevenson and Terrell Brown.
Assuming natural freshman-to-sophomore progression and development for Davis, Stevenson and Brown while also keeping in mind their limitations (Davis probably isn't going to grow into an offensive weapon, for instance), is that lineup potentially better than - or at least as good as - any lineup Pitt put on the court last season?
Obviously adding Johnson and/or returning Ellison could change the makeup of that group and ostensibly make it better, but it seems like a pretty solid starting five to work from. And if Stevenson and Brown, in particular, improve as they should in their second years, it could be a good group.
What do you think of that lineup? And what would you most like to add to it? (Ellison? Johnson? A grad transfer big?)
