Added an additional 4. It would be nice if every season ticket holder ordered a matching number so we can freeze out the Lions from heinz in 16. Though I could probably jack up the price and resell them.

I don't know if anyone else did this today, but I did ask what the price was going to be and they said that they didn't know. Kid I talked to also said the ticket office is aware of psu fans buying tickets this year to secure spots in 2016, but he said they are doing their best to keep these clowns from the lower sections. Not sure how they can do that but just some information for yinz guys and gals

I ordered my 4... And they will be used by 4 Pitt fans!

PSU fans still think they are going to "take over Heinz". Lmao.

Even if the nitters wanted a lower section they would still be required to pay for the tickets and the associated donation. So this basically means PSU fans are helping bring in money for Pitt. So if there is a large PSU group there (which there probably will be) at least they'll have helped Pitt by purchasing season tickets with the associated donation for 2 years.

I don't see how there will be a huge group there, when there are very very few lower seats open to begin with..

I can say that I just added an 8th season ticket to my 2015 order yesterday in section 111 and the ticket office representative had asked me what my connection was to Pitt (alum). It's good they are trying to filter out visiting fans from purchasing seats especially in the top donor levels

I won't go into the details of how I know this, but the extra tickets announcement reportedly made Pitt's ticket office very busy yesterday. Some might even describe it as "chaotic".....;)

I'd highly, highly doubt that any tickets will go on sale to the general public. Between student tickets and general public tickets, I'd estimate Pitt sells about 50,000 season tickets. The other 15K will be eaten up by Pitt season ticket holders, PC members, etc. I know I'll max out.

No PSU fans will be able to buy tickets from Pitt although probably a few thousand will buy season tickets and many more will find their way in buy buying tickets on Stubhub from brokers or Pitt fans who decide to sell the extra tickets they bought through Pitt.

My PSU friend was telling me there's a PSU blog out there that was encouraging PSU fans to buy Pitt season tickets this year to guarantee a good seat to the game next year. They were saying to just sell all the Pitt tickets on Stubhub and you could make your money back just on the ND game.

They could be right - the caveat being that if I remember correctly, the ND subway alumni didn't show-up en masse the last time that ND came to town as they had in previous years.

Local ND fans are bandwagon jumpers; you generally won't see them unless ND is having a good season.

There are enough lower seats left that they had an ad for lower level season tickets in the newspaper today. Seems unlikely that they would have bothered doing that if there were very very few lower seats open.

Apparently Temple is attempting to keep them out of the lower bowl as well for their game this year. BWI has a thread filled with Nitwit tears.

That is worrisome that lower level tickets are available. Not sure when the last time that occurred.

Maybe this year we are actually trying to sell those tickets rather than just say that we sold those tickets?
I did not see an ad for lower level tickets.... But I did for club seats.. You have to remember that they moved visitors into the upper endzone, opening those seats... IF there are lower level tickets.. they are scattered at best.. try for yourself on the website.

The visitors still have the same lower level seats they've always had. They moved the upper level visitors seats from the sections directly above the lower level visitors seat (sections 501 and 502) to the end zone. For most of our opponents that change has been immaterial.

Hey, we don't know. It could mean seats on the 50 are still available. It could mean the side corner has seats. It could mean the new south end zone suites haven't sold out. Who knows

That is incorrect. In previous years, not only were visitors on the upper east sideline. but they also had sections 101-105 (and I believe part of 106). They now only have 101 in the lower level. Opening up up 4 new sections there.. and the new South Club and surrounding seats which adds around 4,000 seats to the lower level capacity, for all intents and purposes.. (2,390 alone were added for the new south sections). That is the issue with lower level seats being "available". The seating chart is below and I hope this clarifies the issue.

As of Tuesday there were lower bowl sideline season tix available . I was told best available were sections 109 on the visitor side ( between the 25-35 yard lines) and section 132 (around the 20 yard line) on Pitt side . This was for 2

They are not filtering anything. They are just collecting demographic information. You could tell them anything as long as your willing to pay they will sell you the tickets.

This is true. I said I'm from Penn State and they still sold me 4.

I did not know that. Earlier this year I saw a seating map that was essentially the same as in the past with those several sections down in the corner showed as visitors sections. That must have been last year's map. At some level I don't really like giving the visitors so few seat in the lower level, but that certainly does seem to be the trend at most places. I always thought it was great when the visitors brought their band (or at least a pep band) and they had enough lower level tickets in their allotment that they could put the band in section 101. With this change it seems unlikely that's going to happen any more.

By the way, the ad is in the paper again today. Lower level full season tickets starting at $135 and lower level mini-packages starting at $70.

This season will go a long way in determining who will be in the stands next September. If narduzzi turns out to be the real deal as a hc and starts to get some of the bigger named recruits on board , then there will be pitt fans aplenty at Heinz for the psu game , but if pitt struggles on the field and the recruiting stays as is along with early departures of conner and boyd ......pitt could very well be a double digit underdog and if that turns out to be the case , whether you want to admit it or not there will be more than enough tickets available to any and all psu fans that want to be there in person. And yes psu could also struggle , but the odds are more in their favor as there will be quite an infusion of young talent over the next couple of years.

Haha. Sounds like a WVU occupy heinz movement. You are a complete fool if you think Pitt's attendance for the 16 psu game hinges on this year
