Looking forward to September 10th. Just had a couple questions and I'm willing to take the risk of being told to get lost.. I'll be at the game with a couple Pitt fans and some other PSU fans. Was wondering about parking options on Game Day. Is the Carnegie Science Center lot a first come lot and is tailgating allowed? I know we parked in a privately owned lot for a Steelers game a couple years ago for $50. Definitely has been tough finding tickets. Have they been shipped yet? I assume there will be an increase on the secondary market once they're all distributed. I'll be in the stadium one way or the other. I think the atmosphere will be great. Very curious to see how many PSU fans actually go. Never had a bad road game experience and don't expect this to be any different. Looking forward to the reception James Conner will get when he comes onto the field as well as the boos of the Penn State team. A little hatred is good for college football. Hope both programs can win enough the next few seasons so we can play at night in primetime rather than noon. Any feedback good or bad is welcome. Thanks in advance. I appreciate the thread on the Pitt PSU matchups. Good stuff.

I am never on the side of the stadium so cant be much help there but the east side will be the "lively" side tailgating and bar hoping with the enemy! I too am going to the game with mostly PITT fans but there will be a few nits in our group. Great time for college football and PITTsburgh!

It will be tough to find parking, most are pre-sold. Stuff that isn't pre-sold is mainly on the side by the Science Center. You could also park in town and walk across the bridge or park at Station Square and take a clipper across to the stadium. Tailgating is allowed in most places. The atmosphere should be incredible. Tickets haven't been shipped yet, probably in a few weeks. My guess is about 15K PSU fans when it is all said and done. 20K would be the max.

There are some lots on the North Side that are full of tailgating on game days. I think you can even pre-pay for some of them. Try a google search.

From the Arco site, the first thing listed is this:
Tailgating Policies

1No space will be sold exclusively for tailgating in any North Shore location. Space is sold only for the purpose to park a vehicle.

Seems like arco runs all the north shore lots? I'll probably be on the phone with the science center and arco and probably Pitt athletics to see what the deal is. Definitely going to walk around and check out the scene but I need to grill some meat and have some Iron City to start the day off right.

Yeah, you can't reserve spots just to tailgate like you can at Beaver Stadium. Once the lost is fairly full, it's not too big of a deal.

You can also park over at Station Square. I've seen tailgating on a much smaller scale over there but it happens.

Tailgating is definitely not allowed in the Carnegie Science Center lot. I think your best bet is the locks down by the West End Bridge or up in the Northside by McDonald's.
