Just looking at some numbers..
Mcswirly in 2017 - 284 completions - 3,570 yds - 28 TD's
Players no longer on the team that attributed to those numbers -
Da'sean Hamilton - 53 rec - 857 yds - 9 td
Saquon Barkley - 54 rec - 632 yds - 3 td
Mike Gesicki - 57 rec - 563 yds - 9 td
Saeed Blacknail - 28 rec - 289 yds - 2 td
Combined - 192 rec (67%) - 2,341 (65%) yds - 23 (82%) td
No doubt other guys will step up, but even in 2016 Mcswirly had Chris Godwin as well. He's always had established stars around him. I don't think their offense is much to fear and I really don't think Mcswirly is that great. I think he's good, but he's always played better than he actually is.
Add in the fact their secondary is super young, they lost two DE's and their MLB, and the big one - they lost Moorehead.
I'm a huge homer, but I really don't think this game stays close on Sept. 8th. Miles Sanders doesn't scare me a bit, and neither does Mcswirly or James from State College. It'll be a rout at half.
