Hudson might be their best player along with Colvin. Colvin is a MB and I don’t think we will take one in the portal. Hudson was first team All Big 10 as an OH but she was not very good against Louisville. They blocked her a lot.

Interestingly, Chicoine is listing herself as an OH/Libero in the transfer portal, per VT. She played with Rachel under Fish in Norceca a few years back I think.
She also played in the Under Armor all star game in January 2023.....the same one that Babcock, Stafford, and Bayless played in. Whoever gets her.....it's a homerun IMO.
Nobody seems to have any idea what's going on. Can only assume there was something toxic in the program or the coach let them know they're leaving? Not sure.

Could she be a VVG replacement alternative? I think Bayless will work out fine there to be fair, just like I think Haiti will be the setter and it will still be mostly a 5-1.
Doesn't seem like Fisher trusts Bayless in serve receive. I'd be cool with Hudson. She was a menace against PSU and was top five in kills.
Hudson is very, very good....no question....1st team all B1G. I'll still take Chicoine....2nd team BiG....only a sophomore. She would be the 2nd coming of Member-Meneh....about the same size and both have a spring in their jump that is jaw dropping. Chicoine's sophomore stats are very similar to Member-Meneh's senior numbers....around 3.5 points/set....3 digs/set....and over 3 kills/set. Hudson and Chicoine will both be excellent additions to any team they end up at.
I suppose it all depends on how much he thinks Bayless will improve or what incoming freshman Coleman brings.

Heard a pro volleyball player say that he’s hearing some of these girls are being offered more than what some pros make. That’s crazy but only a few women’s leagues pay big bank.
Dave Shondell is 66 years old. I can understand if that NIL is not the game he wishes to anguish over.

Just saw that one of my favorite ACC players.....not in a Pitt uniform....is in the portal. She's Grace Lopez....OPP from Florida State....2nd team all ACC this year. She is very good.

Grace has been one of my favorite players in the ACC during the past two seasons.
She sort of leveled off after a really good 2023 season. Not sure about going from PR to Miami to Wisconsin. Yeesh.
That didn't take long....she will flourish there. I thought she might also end up at SMU. Sam Edger has to reload!
The last that I saw, Sam has gotten two players from the portal from the University of Southern California.
USC made the tourney but the word is they are determined to become THE national power in volleyball. This is from my limited sources who are Stanford fans. They have highly rated and large classes coming in both in 2025 and 2026 and they are forcing out some very good players for younger players they think will be better.
It’s essentially the Nebraska model. Use the portal sparingly to add players but push out players that don’t fit into your future plans. In Harper Murray’s class, there were 5 highly rated recruits. Only 3 are still on the team. The other two were pushed out along with 2 older players after the 2023 season. That allowed Cook to bring in two transfers and two freshmen in 2024. Their incoming class this year has either 5 or 6 more freshmen but they have 6 seniors on the roster. However, they already have 5 commits for 2026 so Cook undoubtedly will force out more players over the next year. (By force out I mean not renewing their scholarships or other financial assistance and telling them they don’t fit into future plans.) That is the model the Stanford supporters say USC is following.
Ironically, two of the players pushed out last year will be playing for PSU against Nebraska. So, I have no doubt SMU is getting quality players.
Continuity doesn’t seem to be as important in volleyball as in other sports. Bree Kelley is the only major contributor at Pitt who came through the portal, but the last two Texas national championship teams each had mainly portal players. And, two years ago in the semis they beat a San Diego team with 9 transfers.
Louisville has 6 seniors so they will have a lot of holes to fill.
Based on Volleytalk buzz, Instagram following, some suggest 80% Chicoine ends up at Louisville.
