Seriously, it seemed to me that the 2 QB fumbles involved the RB not expecting the handoff. What say you?

Well it certainly isn’t my fault…

Was it the same running back on both occasions? If not then who is the common denominator?

Well, I saw CV point to his own chest on the sideline and claim fault for this first one, which I believe was with Kenny Johnson. That doesn't necessarily definitively say whose fault it was, but when you put that together with the fact that he did it again, got benched, etc.... well.

So if the play is a hand off to a RB and the QB puts the ball exactly in the right place and the RB fails to take the exchange, that is the QB's fault?

Just way too many mistakes for this offense with Cignetti well into his second season. Not sure what he is like during practice, but players could benefit from a high energy, hands on guy.

It's on the QB to make sure the handoff is completed. A fumbled handoff is always charged to the QB.

You already asked that question and it's already been answered.

You can ask it another way and the answer is the same. It's on the QB. Especially when it involves two different runners.

It probably happened a few times in practice as well..

The problem with CV is not those two fumbles (the plays were ill conceived and would have failed anyway). Or even his INTs. The issue is that he is a QB from the 1960s. Slow, cement legged. At a school like Pitt the QB needs to be an athletic, mobile RPO specialist who is always a threat to make plays with his legs. Yarnell is definitely not this guy either. So a complete overhaul is needed at the position (and the entire offense too, of course).
