Hope everyone has a healthy new year . This next football season we will face many experienced and talented dual threat QB's whichmakes it imperative for our defense to get much better especially on the defensive line where we must generate a more consistent pass rush. Trace M cSorley, Mackenzie Milton of UCF, Taquon Marshall of Ga.Tech,Josh Jackson of Va Tech, Brandon Wimbush of Notre Dame, Dan Jones of Duke, Malik Rosier or whoever Richt starts at Miami and either Nate Elliott ( who gave us troublethis year] or Chaz Surrat at North Carolina and Eric Dungey from Syracuse. The only two opponents that will be breaking in new QB's will be WForest and Virginia. Enjoy today's football!

Well, the 1s on defense will now have an opportunity to practice against a true dual- threat QB in the off-season. Add Towns and there is plenty of talent to practice against in order to prepare.

Think positive! Of those you list, Pitt has already beaten McSorely, Dungey, Daniel Jones, and Malik Rosier and that was when our defense was worse than it should be this coming year. Plus we SHOULD have beaten Josh Jackson if we would have been able to gain a yard in 4 tries!

Excellent post and analysis!

QB's are important but from a "glass is half full" kinda guy a team needs the package good OL performance, and players who can catch make plays for the QB to make the difference.

UPDATE--of QBs playing in games RIGHT NOW--Wimbush has been replaced by Book for ND and is there any chance McKenzie Milton follows his coach to Nebraska (we can hope can't we)!

This UCF team is scary good. I thought they would make a few splash plays and keep it close. I had no idea they would dominate Auburn’s Oline. Another thing is the one LB Shaquem Griffin has one hand and has just dominated.

Only Steve Peterson could schedule Central Florida ND and Penn st in the same year out of conference.

Sorta like scheduling Penn st and Okky st in back to back games the last 2 years.

Talk about self sabotaging your football program....geezus
Except he didn't.

UCF was scheduled by Scott Barnes. This was after UCF went 6-6 last season, 0-12 the year before. Were you really quaking in fear when that series was announced?

Notre Dame is part of the ACC rotation. Steve had nothing to do with that one. Well, except for maybe helping get Pitt into the ACC instead of being left behind in the American. And since when do Pitt fans complain about playing Notre Dame?

Now yeah, the PSU series is all Steve. But there wasn't one Pitt fan back in 2011/2012 complaining about that series because the newly-sanctioned Nitters would be too tough. Maybe a few didn't like being associated with them, but that was about it.

The genius that is Pantherlair strikes again.....

Well, Central Florida 4 or 5 years ago played Baylor in a New Year’s Day bowl. And I guess Peterson didn’t schedule the Okky st series that happened to fall right after the Penn st game..... umm ok!

The most amazing thing about Central Florida is how they somehow went from 12-1 to 0-12 to 13-0 all in the space of 5 years. I don’t ever remember seeing anything like that before.

I agree. That’s gotta be a first

Who was the kid named Book that replaced Wimbush for Notre Shame

Any chance Jurkovic beats out all of the other young stud QB's on the Domer roster ?

Milton and McSorley are the 2 best from that list. The other ones may very well get better, but are not world beaters at the moment.

We can probably cut the poster a break since "Dumb and Dumber" both previous AD's Steve and Scott had similar brain activity, synchronised electrical pulses from masses of neurons communicating with each other incorrectly.

It was hard to tell them apart with those fake smiles.

In plain English they didn't have the intelligence, or common sense to be effective AD's!

I'd be shocked if Jackson starts for VT or Rosier for Miami. I think both were place holders for the kids they were redshirting.

Holy sheet thanks for bringing me down. :)

Hard to be an optimist when facing that schedule, but I will still attempt to.
