Like most of you I love college football. I tend to feel like the game is going in a direction that I dont love, and I am worried for it in the next 10-20 years, but for now one of my favorite parts of college football is to see kids develop athletically and in maturity.
I hate the way college football "free agency" is starting to rise up... Kids are so entitled, and they want instant gratification. If they dont get what they want they transfer. The fans and those involved are so focused on giving them what they want, and I think its hard to imagine that free transfers arent on the horizon in the next 10-20 years.
Last year Avonte Maddox was the guy that we finally got to see turn the corner. He was picked on so much. He worked in a system where his talents were not the ideal fit. He stuck it out, and it was great to see him have success. He worked his butt off, and he didnt transfer when everyone was complaining about him.
This year Quadree is the guy. I cant believe he stuck it out. I thought for sure he would transfer, and I thought there was no way he would ever amount to much more than a guy that split carries and had an occasional decent run. However, he has dealt with a lot of us that criticized him, and its good to see him getting the results.
I wish that more kids would see the process through, and that they would buy into the school they commit to. Call it old school, but it just drives me crazy when a kid doesnt get things his way and transfers. I hope that some of these guys see what Quadree has done and the mind set starts to change. I definitely applaud Quadree, and I admit I was wrong about him. It's always fun when a kid WORKS hard and proves you wrong..... especially when he deals with so much adversity throughout the process.
