For any of you who have such statistics:
I've often felt that Pitt surrenders points on the first drive of a game at a higher than average rate. I have no data to back that up - it's just a sense that I have, and I could be wrong. To clarify - this would be the first defensive series for Pitt at the beginning of a game. But in addition I also wonder what the data has to say about the opening defensive series in the second half of games.
It could be that it's just because of my constant frustration with our defense that I perceive this to be a reality, but if anyone has data regarding such a statistic across the NCAA and how Pitt compares, I'd love to see it.
I don't know who would have such information but if you do, I'm also curious regarding how often we've given up touchdowns within the first 3 plays of a game and how that compares to other teams.
I'm asking this b/c there is nothing going on in the world of sports right now and it seems like a good time to ask a tedious question such as this. Anyone out there with data?
