Reached out to my UConn buddy for some intel on this kid after I saw our interest. Here’s what I got:

“Top 75 type out of HS, but barely saw the court. When he did play he was a turnover machine and did not seem prepared for the moment, but he rarely saw time with anyone other than freshmen or walk ons. He has slight frame and needs to bulk up to play in a major league. He has a big personality and helped sell the program to recruits, nice kid by all accounts. Overall it seemed like he came in as more of a project than we thought and he got discouraged about the lack of PT and that timelines for other recruits overlapped his. Worth a shot if you have room, but I wouldn’t expect anything immediately outside of rotation minutes”

It seems like we got in immediately after he hit the portal, so this is an interesting one. There are certainly minutes available at PG here, so between that and staying at a P6 level, it would be nice to grab a kid with pedigree that might just need a new start.

I like the idea of this kid as a rotation piece behind a Cummings type at PG, since Cummings would be a super senior.

He looked bigger training Bruce Wayne...

Haven't posted here for quite awhile, but thing with Diggins was simply that he couldn't earn minutes. Hurley never came out and directly said that Diggins didn't do well in practice, but he noted that backup PG Gaffney and frosh forward Johnson earned minutes through their work in practice, which is basically same as saying Diggins didn't. And Gaffney was horrible this year - a low bar for Diggins to hurdle. Obviously the kid has latent talent as he drew P5 interest out of HS, but he won't be an immediate solution.

Congrats on getting Cummins.
