Giants or Jets would've made a lot more sense after 911. Saints were loaded when they won. Tampa winning in Tampa and LA winning in LA would be more conspiracy theories than anything you mentioned.

Weren't the Yanks and Mets in the WS after 911?

What year was Fireballz born? If the Steelers won a Super Bowl the same year the city became burdened with his existence then I think we have something here.

Yankees had a magical run to the World Series but lost in Game 7 to the Diamondbacks.

Told my wife that an NFL team that wins 5 of their last 6 to win their division prior to natural or man-made disaster is often in a good position to make a Super Bowl run... But then again, I'm not a nut...

Yup. They didn't play starters in their last game either or they'd be 12-6 currently and would've been the 3 seed in the NFC. Rams started playing well long before the wildfires.

lol. The Eagles will beat them by 10 or more.
Not sure about that. Outside of the Steelers defense, which is a cure for any offensive problems, Hurts has been very meh for his past 5 or so games. With weapons like he has, he should be putting up numbers like Pickett and McKee did.

Yeah. Wonder if playing one of the best teams in the NFC in a playoff game vs playing checked-out bottom feeders might have had something to do with it. Or maybe Pickett, with his 65.4 PFF grade that ranks 46th our of 75 QBs, is just that good.

Tanner McKee - 71.8 PFF (34th out of 75)

30-45 (66.7%), 323 yards, 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions

Jalen Hurts - 76.3 PFF (23rd out of 75)

248-361 (68.7%), 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, 5 interceptions

Kenny Pickett - 65.4 PFF (46th out of 75)

25-42 (59.5%), 291 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception

No matter how much proof is in the pudding, Pitt fans gonna be Pitt fans.

Barkley ran all over them not long ago. If they can bottle him up, they have a shot.

Green Bay played extremely well on D and has been playing well on D. Hurts needs to be better but GB is a lot better on D than Dallas and NYG especially late season.

Buffalo is going to beat the Ravens. I think it’s Buffalo and Detoilet in the Super Bowl with Josh Allen, runner up for MVP leading the way.

After they beat the Ravens they will beat Kansas City

Pickett was that good. It’s cute how you pick and choose when to praise QBs and knock them based on their opponent.

I laugh at those things too. Hurts did nothing on Sunday. He threw a 7 yard out pass to a TE who inexplicably brushed off a tackler and went 25 yards for a TD. Before that Hurts had like 60 yards over 3 quarters. His QB rating ballooned because of that one thrown TD pass…which was a check down for a little more than his 3 yards per attempt that he was averaging.

That would be a great Super Bowl. Let’s hope.

NFL QB's - 3 or 4 elite QB's

Everyone else is good enough to win with if you have offensive talent, which the Steelers do not have. I'd rather have Nate Yarnell quarterbacking the Steelers with elite offensive talent than Wilson or Fields with the bums they have

I checked out of Pitt football a long time ago. I watched the Philly games. I saw what I saw outside of the McKee performance because I was traveling. But I’d never poo poo his performance. No advanced stats would tell me that he wasn’t pretty damn good in that game. I don’t care who he played. It’s the NFL.

I don’t know man. I think there are 8 damn good QBs in the afc right now.

Miserable clowns gone miserable clown.

Did you actually watch Pickett play? Three drops against Washington that would have added 100 yards to his total and probably another TD or 2. He had two passing TDs called back by penalty. He had another long TD pass overturned to the 1 foot line because the receiver celebrated early, which he ran in later.

He played well in emergency relief against Washington and did more than enough for them to win. He looked great against Dallas, outside of the one meme.

You really need to touch some grass.

Yeah. His trolling agenda on the subject is pretty transparent. But it’s also amusing and quite enjoyable to converse with him on the subject.

No trolling intended. I actually can't stand the guy because of five or so people on the Pitt board who have homoerotic fantasies about him and can't help but let us know every chance they get.

We interrupt this thread, with a breaking sports news item.

Diontae Johnson has been cut by the Texans. By my count that’s three teams that gave up on him this year? Or is it four? This is the guy who was our number one receiver the previous few …years quite an offensive weaponry we have had here in Pittsburgh.

Would love to see jalen hurts operate here. I bet he’d fail.

Fwiw it was a back handed knock on the steeler big nasty defense when I brought up that jalen hurts has looked pretty darn pedestrian compared to 2 middling QBs…aside when he played the Steelers and looked like Steve Young reincarnated.

lol. Barkley just ran all over them not too long ago to an easy victory, and that was on the road to boot! I don't think this will be much of a game.

I don't see Buffalo beating the Ravens. You actually think they can stop both Henry and Jackson? If it was only one of them I'd give them a good shot, but, the combo will be hard as hell. If you bring the safeties up Lamar will beat you over the top. The Bills have become a running team also. However, Josh Allen is there big back and Cook is quick but not terribly physical. What do the Ravens do best on defense? Stop the run. It's a bad matchup for Buffalo.
Henry may be the missing link to getting Lamar to the big game. The 1st game of the season was KC vs. Baltimore on Thursday night. If u remember, Isaiah Likely's toe narrowly touched the backline of the endzone and kept Baltimore from tying the game with no time left. I am looking forward to the rematch and won't be rooting for Pat Mahomes to get a 3-peat.
