The Sporting News did a Friggin Slide Show, last time I go there, but since there, did the rankings without the Posters having to do them. Here is lowdown for Pitt, PSU, & WVU.

ACC PAT NARDUZZI:
ACC Rank: 7th
Overall Rank: 38
Record: 8-5
Lowdown: It’s a big jump for Narduzzi, but the Panthers were 6-2 in ACC play and lost three games by a touchdown or less last season. The old-school, ground-and-pound philosophy took Pitt back to its roots, and the defense will only get better.

BIG-12 DANA HOLGROSEN
Big-12 Rank; 7th

Overall Rank: 49
Record: 36-28

Lowdown: Holgorsen has managed a winning record three of the last four seasons, but the Mountaineers have been a middle-of-the-road team in the Big 12 since coming over from the Big East. That’s evidenced by a 4-13 record against ranked teams since 2012.

BIG TEN JAME FRANKLIN
Big-10 Rank: 9th

Overall Rank: 51
Record: 38-27 (14-12)
Lowdown: Franklin helped guide the Nittany Lions through NCAA sanctions with two bowl berths the last two seasons, but there’s still work to do in Happy Valley. Penn State is 0-5 against ranked teams under Franklin. That will need to change in order to move up in a tough Big Ten East division.
