anyone know who recruited him. how did he come to be on pitt's radar ? is Locksley definitely of the radar ? do you see pitt recruiting a third QB to fill in all the gaps ?

His JC coach was the OC under Walt (Mooshigian). May have been a connection that way.

Looks like Locksley's chance is gone.

Pickett, Town, Patti, and we have a walk on. That will likely be it this year.

Two walkons right? The new one this year, and the one we had last year.

I think Town probably beat locksley to the commit.

Bravo to Town knowing how things work. He wanted to be a Panther, and committed. Word was the Locksley was looking to commit right away as well.

Bad commit. Everyone talks about Pitt's recruiting but the bad qb recruiting is why we can't succeed.
Stop for a minute and think logically.
Pickett seems to be Pitt's qb of the future (I'm OK with that), and he is a dual threat qb and a good one at that.
Town is a pro style qb in the mo!d of Browne (and a average qb at best).
Now let's say god forbid Pickett gets hurt or under performs now you put in town.
That's two different styles of play so everything from blocking schemes, to play calling, to route running changes. That was the problem this year two differnt styles of qb play causing confusion.
If your going to recruit a qb then the back up should be the same (style) as your starter .

Pickett is not Duel Threat. Picket can run if he has to, but is very much a pocket qb. If you watch the tape on Town, they are VERY similar in pocket and running styles.

The guy getting millions of dollars to make those decisions seems to be okay with it. I think I'll give the kid the benefit of the doubt, and welcome him to Pitt.

Town (and Patti for that matter) are very similar in style to Pickett.

Patti can run better than he can throw but he is definitely a pro style QB. Pickett really is the best of both worlds for a pro style QB. I do agree that we should stick with one style of QB.
