Real simple: 1s and 2s combine for 25, we win, they dont, we lose

We have only lost 1 game when our 1s and 2s combine for 25 or more and that was the first UNC game. This team cannot rely on defense and MUST score points but it cant rely on Young and Artis to do ALL the scoring. The worst games we have played this year have seen awful performances by our guards. Our best games are when Robinson, Jones, and Johnson are scoring.

I really believe this team has no chance unless the guards play well and score. We cant have Robinson score 6 points on 2-10 shooting.

The following line will suffice:

Robinson 10
Jones 8
Johnson 8

That's not asking a lot. If we get that, we win.

I really don't like to engage in this kind of mental accounting of points by position. Take the good shots, don't take the bad shots. If Cam has to hoist 10 threes to reach the 8 point mark, it's not likely to help us win. These figures are endogenous to the flow of the game- they aren't goals themselves. So, yeah, this might be an accurate barometer after the game, but it really isn't something to target during the game. I'm not sure which way you are intending this post to be taken.
