Very good info - Zeise does a good job covering Pitt. I'm constantly amazed at all the posters who trash the P-G, for whatever reason. I guess there is always the Pennysaver.Excellent read and lots of insight. Basically, we know nothing for certain other than Dixon has talked to TCU and that Barnes wants him to stay at Pitt.

if Dixon doesn't want to take orders from his boss, it is time for him to go.Lots of good stuff here.

Agree - DT. Historically Pitt has been very successful keeping administrative (academically and athletically) information very private. Dixon is extremely private. So my guess is except for Dixon's real "inner circle" and perhaps Barnes, no one else knows a damn thing. This info is all coming from TCU and they certainly have an agenda which appears to be hiring Dixon. Creating drama in Oakland between Dixon and his bosses helps their process, regardless if what they are leaking is completely factual or not. I feel pretty strongly this time info is not being leaked by Dixon's camp (agent). This is all we know.
But I LOVE this part of the blog: Please remember in every coaching search: EVERYBODY IS LYING TO YOU.

I won't believe anything until I hear Dixon/Pitt say it.
Agree 100%....it is all speculation...only Jamie and his family/agent know what he's going to do. I do want him to stay, and believe he is the best candidate for the PITT job.
And sending you some warm Kauai sunshine...another 76 degree day!
Hail to PITT!

Wow you never think Jamie or his camp are responsible for anything do you? He is not innocent in all of this.Agree - DT. what advantage would Jamie have for leaking all this stuff?Wow you never think Jamie or his camp are responsible for anything do you? He is not innocent in all of this.
To get more money.what advantage would Jamie have for leaking all this stuff?
Seriously? You can't possibly believe that? You really believe that, deep down? it doesn't make sense, on any level. he isn't that stupid to know he has little to no leverage. To get more money.
Look all I know is that Dixon's camp could have told TCU to keep everything quiet and they would have. Dixon is not blameless in these "leaks".Seriously? You can't possibly believe that? To get more money.
You nor I know all the facts yet, so to presume anything about anything is premature. Certainly not enough evidence on anything to post what you did to Pittgirl.Look all I know is that Dixon's camp could have told TCU to keep everything quiet and they would have. Dixon is not blameless in these "leaks".
From TCUIncorrect.
He will not get more money from Pitt from this situation if he decides to stay.
Look all I know is that Dixon's camp could have told TCU to keep everything quiet and they would have. Dixon is not blameless in these "leaks".
Well he certainly hasn't said he still wants to remain at Pitt and loves it and all the song and dance. Keeping quiet speaks volumes. 13 years of loyalty huh??You nor I know all the facts yet, so to presume anything about anything is premature. Certainly not enough evidence on anything to post what you did to Pittgirl.
At this point he is trapped. Deny it, and you hose yourself out of a potential good deal, don't deny it and alienate Pitt. His best position now is to keep his mouth shut. Sometimes saying nothing is the best play, like checking.
From TCU
His camp could have easily told TCU officials to keep things quiet. Why couldn't that have happened??How would you know this?
Now I am getting confused, just erase that part lol. That doesn't make sense.
TCU are the ones leaking it. So why would they leak it to give Dixon more money?
Please explain.
I know you don't work for a living, but loyalty is a lost concept in today's business world, and especially in sports. Don't you understand, him saying anything either way only hurts him. There are other players in this, not just him. He has to play his hand cautiously. I could have sworn you said you play poker. How often do you announce to the table what cards you have and what you are thinking about doing?Well he certainly hasn't said he still wants to remain at Pitt and loves it and all the song and dance. Keeping quiet speaks volumes. 13 years of loyalty huh??
C'mon not even the same thing.I know you don't work for a living, but loyalty is a lost concept in today's business world, and especially in sports. You either don't understand business, don't understand poker, or both then.C'mon not even the same thing.
His camp could have easily told TCU officials to keep things quiet. Why couldn't that have happened??
I don't know it I am saying it could have happened.
Yes it does.Huh? That doesn't make any sense either.
Yes it does.
Dixon's camp to TCU's camp - "let's keep these negotiations quiet, no leaks"
TCU's camp - "okay"
Why does that not make sense?
Right I don't understand poker, okay. You either don't understand business, don't understand poker, or both then.
Incorrect.
He will not get more money from Pitt from this situation if he decides to stay.
Maybe. I explained a business situation in simple poker terms, and you didn't get it. I don't know what to think anymore.Right I don't understand poker, okay.
Because I think Dixon didn't tell them to keep it quiet. He doesn't feel appreciated, he wants this public maybe hoping he'd get a lot of Pitt support. But if this scenario is true, and then TCU leaked it anyway, why is this Dixon fault?
Because your analogy is not applicable.Maybe. I explained a business situation in simple poker terms, and you didn't get it. I don't know what to think anymore.
Let me try again then, maybe I didn't explain it well. Sometimes, announcing your hand hurts you. Sometimes bluffing, checking or saying nothing helps you. Sometimes raising the stakes helps you. Blabbing in business is not always the best play. Playing it close to the vest can be as you evaluate your opposition.Because your analogy is not applicable.
Again I don't know any of this is true, just me speculating. Dixon has done this "new job" thing before. He is calculating and knows exactly what he is doing.

But how would this help him get more money from TCU?
Just give up. He won't get it. He is thrilled like a kid getting another candy. Jamie is gone. Nothing to be gained any more from trying to figure him out.But how would this help him get more money from TCU?
