Brown played 16 minutes and had 1 rebound\
Kene played 19 minutes and had 2
I have to agree (Davis did have 7 rebounds though)We also had two starters, Chukwuka and Davis, who played 19 and 20 minutes respectively who each went 0-1 from the field and didn't shoot a foul shot.
It's hard to win when two of your starters combine for 39 minutes and 0 points.

Regarding rebounding or the lack there of, it's hard to get a rebound when everyone is standing outside the 3 point arc when the shot goes up.I've been saying our lack of rebounding is killing us. Last night is no exception. We had something like 3 offensive rebounds for the whole game? We used to get 3 offensive rebounds in 3 minutes. We won't win many games, if any, by never getting second chance points.
My question becomes...will it matter if any or all of these kids transfer at the end of the year, a new coach is hired, and he brings in all new kids all over again? It can't be any worse than this. This group tries hard but none of them are ACC caliber players. Let them play in a league more suited for their talent level. And we have no ACC level players coming in.

AgreeI think plenty of these guys are ACC caliber, even if most of them are better suited for the bench this early in their careers. Even Luther probably isn't a starter on most winning ACC teams. But this is what we get with a team full of freshmen. These guys ARE better than the Manigaults and Kithcarts. Improvement has been slow but there has been some improvement.
This was never going to be a season where we could rely on the record to tell the whole story. Prudent move is to give Stallings another year, keep this team intact, hit the weight room, aim for another big, and see what Ellison and Golden bring to the table.

I don't necessarily agree that we aren't going to rebound no matter what. This is clearly a coaching choice that is exacerbating it.I have to agree (Davis did have 7 rebounds though)
We are not going to rebound no matter what. Go with what scorers you possess.
Brown-Stevenson-Frame-Stewart-Carr.
Maybe the elusive luck that levance and whirly harken to occurs and 4 of the 5 have good games the same night, we might win a game.
You don’t rebound, especially offensive ,We shot 3 foul shots all night to Miami's 23 and 2 of our 3 was a result of Technical.
I am sorry - What I meant by that was this roster will never rebound this season.I don't necessarily agree that we aren't going to rebound no matter what. This is clearly a coaching choice that is exacerbating it.
2015/16 - 1257 rbds (97th in the country) Opponents 1022 rbds (17th in the country)- we rebounded well and limited our opponents rebounds
2016/17- 1158 rbds (183rd in the country) Opponents 1153 rbs (172nd in the country)- this is despite more shots being in play
Those rosters were nearly identical, and we changed emphasis. Under Dixon we did have a few years where we gave up more shots than our opponents, but in each of those years we still made significantly more field goals, the emphasis on rebounding and winning that advantage helped that.
You don’t rebound, especially offensive ,
And you don’t drive-
How are you going to get fouled ??
For an offensively anemic team- the solution seems simple:
Attack the offensive glass and attack the rim- to get free points.
It all goes back to poor coaching. These guys are doing what Stallings is asking.Oh I agree totally. I wasn't meaning to imply we deserved to shoot more. I was simply pointing out we only shot 3 as a team all night in response to someone pointing out 2 players didnt shoot any in 20 minutes of action.
But you are certainly right here. The lack of attacking the basket by this team is puzzling at best. Guys like Stephenson and JWF actually have the ability to do it too. When we are struggling to score there is no reason to continue chucking up 3's like we do.
Gotcha. I do wonder if Brown would be a fairly solid rebounder if he played nearer the basket.I am sorry - What I meant by that was this roster will never rebound this season.
