i'll be there for sure !

I know nothing of this T-Pain fellow. And I like Auburn, second to Pitt, but this always slays me.

I won't lie, i'm a sucker for this stuff and i may attend, but will certainly look forward to what comes out.

I also won't lie that it's kind of like watching NASCAR highlights on the news, when they tease there's been a big crash or a football game highlight when they advise to look away because a gruesome injury is about to be shown.

Because what's the best thing we can expect from this? That they are going to be using the exact same throwback uniforms. Yet we know, this is commerce and show buz, and nobody conducts events like this without some kind of significant change planned. They aren't going to do all this just to unveil...tah dah... the same thing you've seen quite a few times over the past 3 years.

And, assuming it will be different, what are the chances it will be better? Since 1997, that percentage is proven to be ... zero point zero

I think, we’ll i have no clue but maybe there is a secondary panther logo coming out? Maybe? I suspect we just go with our retros full time now so yeah, I don’t think any of us will be she’ll shocked.

Maybe a nice “alternative” 3rd uni or two for hoops and football. How about a stripe on our white pants in football?

I don't think you build this much hype to reintroduce the "old" uniforms only to give it a modern touch (that'd be a HUGE letdown) or to introduce an alternate uniform. This is legitimately one of the easiest designs Nike and Pitt have ever had and yet I have minimal confident they'll get it right.

You think they are going to venture far from our retro uniforms?

Sadly, it cannot/will not come close to the infamous official "Introduction of Kevin Stallings as the Pitt Basketball Coach press conference"

A true unveiling.

The only stripe acceptable for the white pant is from a healthy dose of a fire accelerant before we burn them

Terrible planning again by Pitt. Who schedules an event late on a Sunday afternoon, a time when most news organizations have a skeleton crew and are on the verge of deadline? SMH.

Like a weekday afternoon would be better?

Newsflash this time slot allows people to actually attend in person

Admit it you were gonna complain about something being wrong... right?

Dude it's 2019 there really isn't deadlines anymore, it's not like the Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph needs to get the story ready for the evening paper or WIIC needs to shoot the event on film, develop it, transfer it to video, then air it on the 11pm news. Pitt's going to blast this all over social media, channels 2, 4 and 11 will most likely send over a crew to get footage for the 11pm and morning news, come Monday various sports related websites and social media will post videos and pictures along with the press release sent out.

Are you saying The Fan won’t be lining up down the telegraph office to put out a release?

Another way to look at it is that (locally) there will be fewer competing stories on a late Sunday afternoon.

And besides, Heather Lyke seems to know what she’s doing, so I’m looking forward to seeing how she’s gonna present this.

Does anyone remember when TV stations went off the air and played The Star Spangled Banner to end programming?

All my students tell me they get news via Twitter.

Actually it’s brilliant planning. The Penguins aren’t playing. There’s no Final Four games. The Bucs play at 1:35, so any of that crowd can still make it over. Sunday’s are pretty much the easiest time to get in and out of Pittsburgh, especially Oakland.

Pitt will do the reveal, the look will turn out nicer than expected, and The Fan hosts will snicker on Monday morning about "there goes Pitt again" and how Penn State never changes their uniforms.

Why shouldn’t they....it’s true.
And unlike most great programs they will put on uniforms which aren’t even the school’s colors.
They deserve to be ripped.
