Most of the talk has been about replacing Watson, but I think dumping Sherman was a huge deal too. Maybe Aaron Matthews is better than we think he is !! Or just maybe we are deeper at the wr position than we think !!! Let's be honest here, it's not like Sherman did much in the way of development at this position. Yeah Lopes got a little better, but that was do more to reps than anything Sherman did and Henderson didn't improve at all as a receiver. Just say' n. We needed this coaching change just as bad as the OC .

Was thinking the same thing. In all honesty I didn’t see much improvement in any of our receivers

Gotta hope the combination of the new OC and wr coach changes that

Matthews had a couple drops here and there. But also was a rare spark in the Notre Dame game. Solid blocker in the run game. Tall, should have advantages on most DBs. However he's not a burner, and he's most effective in slant patterns, which Pickett can't throw very well. Receiver issue, QB issue, or both? Seems a little of each.

When it comes to our WRs, I think it has more to do with talent level than it does development. I'm hoping the next coach has some chops on the recruiting trail.

We have a very young Corp of receivers. We don't know how talented they are because their coach sucked. They all for the most part played in the best conferences in Florida and faced great competition. To say they are not talented isn't being fair. I laugh when I read this crap, it's like people think these kids should just step onto the field and become super stars.
