Recent Coaching Hires

Like many on here, I think our AD has made some very good hires. I
also think she's doing an outstanding job as AD.
However our men's baseball team and women's softball seasons are
having horrible seasons under their new coaches. This following
an excellent season (softball) and a good season (baseball) last
year. Were those coaches THAT bad? Did we upgrade with the new hires?

Maybe it isn't the coaching but the talent? I don't follow Pitt baseball that closely, but apparently they lost several key players from last season.

The Panthers lost multiple key contributors from their 2018 squad. Infielders Frank Maldonado and Liam Sabino, Pitt’s two biggest offensive contributors from a season ago, were lost to graduation and the draft, respectively. Matt Pidich, 2018 team leader in ERA, was also drafted and signed by the Cincinnati Reds.

Time will only tell. It's difficult to make a judgement this early. Softball's starting ace pitcher got hurt 2 innings into the season.

By all accounts, the baseball hire was a good one from the outside world. Don't know much about softball hire, but on paper she seemed to have success.

Like anything, we'll be able to make a judgement 2 or 3 years from now.

Utterly ridiculous to question either hire after one year.

Particularly softball, where you only go as far as your ace pitcher will take you.

Pitt baseball btw, had their best recruiting class ever last season.
