I do not totally remember where I heard him say this. A radio post game spot? ND game?

Does anyone else remember hearing this?

I never heard that, but if he did say that, his body language this year versus last tells me he believes it. I worried for his health last season. Thought he'd have a stroke or nervous breakdown.

Aint that the truth............he looked as tight as a banjo most games last year...........although I must say, the teams performance last game had him looking a lot like he did last year...........looked like he wanted to run on the floor and show them how to box out and get a freaking rebound.

I think this team is incredibly talented and deep. I just think our defense and lack of size are two glaring needs. They can avoid those getting in the way of a great season, they just seem to have games like Tuesday where they don't do the other things well enough to mask that. As great as it is watching this offense when they can shoot, their defense is almost always sickening to watch.

How do u figure we are incredibly talented? Aside from Young and Artis I do not see it.

Young and Artis are as good as anyone at their positions. I still think J-Rob is a good point guard. The only knock on him is scoring ability, and I think he at the least has been able to hit some clutch shots this season. I like Smith's shot a lot, can't figure out why he doesn't shoot more. Jeter would start at over 3/4 of the teams in the country. Wilson hasn't fully developed yet, but I think he'll be one of the best players in school history. Cam Johnson is up and down, but definitely has a ton of potential. There would be absolutely no excuse at all if this team misses the tourney.

Team has talent but the missing ingredient is they don't have a legit big to defend the post and provide a threat down low on the other end. Mike is their best low post defender and hes not all that physically imposing. He also is not a huge threat against teams with better post players. Like I said add Gary McGee to this squad and they'd be much better.

This team is a jump-shooting team an when another team takes tat away we are toast. You got 1 man on the team that can take it to the hoop and finish consistently. Young can get there, has nice moves, but lacks the balance/strength to finish. Same with the rest of team actually. JRob rarely even tries because hes just too slow. Maia has the strength but not the length and quickness. There are too many "projects" on this team. I think that worked when Howland was here because he had Jamie Dixon and Slice on staff. Coach Dixon needs to find "his" Dixon and his Slice if he wants to go the project route. Otherwise, up your recruiting and seal the deal on talent. One other thing Damon Wilson needs to find more minutes, we ALL know what JRob can (and can't) do at this point. Im not saying sit JRob, I do see a value in him, but I also see the need to get Wilson reps so he can develop quicker.

Nobody took anything away from Pitt as far as jump shooting. Pitt got plenty great looks against the Wolfpack and simply could not find the bottom of the hoop.

That in essence explains the blowout. If teams want to play up tempo they better drain shots. Pitt came out against ND and was on fire. Everything they threw up went down. They got the same looks against NCSt and couldn't make crap.

Not sure I want to place that kind of a shooting night on the coach.
