Recruiting expectations for Capel

I am hoping for a lot. Basically, at worst, I expect him to recruit at the Mark Gottfried/Lorenzo Romar level but hopefully be able to coach. Inotherwords, top third ACC classes, at least top half classes. An eventual roster of say 10 Top 150 players, with 5 of them being Top 100, and maybe 2 being Top 50.

At best, I am expecting Cuonzo Martin "how the eff is he doing that" level recruiting.

I'd think shooting for Bobby Hurley level recruiting is a reasonable goal. ASU will probably never out recruit the blue bloods like UCLA & Arizona (when they aren't under investigation) but they are keeping pace with the 2nd tier of teams like Oregon, USC, Stanford, & Washington. I don't see any reason why Pitt can't recruit equally or better than most teams in the ACC outside of Duke, UNC, & maybe Louisville/Syracuse.

I don't care so much about rankings as I do about the types of players Capel is going to bring in. I want to see Pitt with good guard play and guys who can shoot. Get what you need to win in March.

Lville is always going to pay people and Syracuse cheats. It may be hard to keep up with them. Your point remains though. Def in that tier.

Interesting - Capel can make it happen - Huge talent upgrade - Nice to have a coach that can bring that kind of talent to Pitt

Capel has plenty of ACC playing time to offer. Starting spots are available. Can't wait.

Hope to hear news on the staff and at least the beginnings of recruiting interest soon.

In the beginning years 1-2 it's important to bring in some exciting talent while building a winning program.

By exciting talent I mean players who on their own can light it up, and eventually transition team guys on a winning team!
