While Pitt impresses Habakkuk Baldonado on his official visit two weeks ago, it still wasn’t enough to convince the Clearwater International Academy defensive end prospect that he wanted to be a Panther.

The day after he got back from Pitt, Baldonado hosted a trio of coaches from Michigan State - including head coach Mark Dantonio - for an in-home visit, and at that point, he was favoring the Spartans.

But Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi and linebackers coach Rob Harley got the next in-home visit, coming in one day after MSU visited Baldonado and spending nearly eight hours with him, hoping to make the case for Pitt.

As it turns out, that in-home visit was successful: Baldonado signed with Pitt today.

Nothing the matter taking a shot on a kid like this who literally hasn’t played football before. Redshirt him, get him stronger and more acclimated to the game at this speed and you might just end up with something special. If not was still worth the chance IMO.

Eight hours, I hope they brought some food with them on that in home visit.

This cat looks like a future TE based on a few pass plays. Nice athlete either way.
