Pitt is sitting at 4-2 (1-1) with 6 ACC games left. This is what it looks like:

@Syracuse
Miami
@GT
UNC
@VT
BC

None of these teams are better than us. Plain and simple. Does that mean we'll win out? Probably not. Would I be surprised if we did? Absolutely not.

Best Case: 10-2
Worst Case: 8-4

I don't understand why Narduzzi gets so much flack. All coaches make boneheaded decisions. He's just as guilty as everyone else, but he's built a really solid program here in Pittsburgh. He's done it while basically recycling coordinators every single year. His defense is finally here and it's going to be here for a long time. Also, this defense has had to face some pretty tough teams to start the year:

Offense Rank (Points per Game) - 28th toughest schedule

UVA: 70th
Ohio: 98th
Penn St: 13th
UCF: 9th
Delaware: NA
Duke: 52nd

Pitt Team Defensive Ranks:

Opponents PPR - 38th
Opponents Yards per Game - 28th
Sacks per Game - 6th (Imagine having Weaver)
Rush Yard per Game - 26th
Pass Yard per Game - 44th
Defensive Efficiency - 28th

Now to the offense. Whipple has been a tad bit underwhelming, but the potential of this offense was shown on that game winning drive vs. Duke. I was thinking to myself "why didn't we do this all game?" We have to remember, this is Whipples first year. This is Kenny's first year with the new OC. Those calling for Patti - did you watch the Delaware game? Kenny is clearly the best QB on this team and quite frankly, he's one of the better ones in the conference.

He ranks 3rd in the conference in passing yards and 25th in the country. Granted, he hasn't been the most efficient QB and hasn't thrown very many TDs (6), but it's his first year in this offense. He's getting better every single game and it shows. I'm really excited to watch him play in a dome next game. The only real issue on offense is the run game. It's a serious concern, although once it gets going it'll just open up everything else for Kenny.

I said it on Saturday and I'll say it again - I wish we could play UVA next week. I hated the idea of opening with them week 1, and it's clear we've gotten much better since then. It wouldn't have been a big deal opening with a doormat ACC team, but opening with a team that'll be competing for the ACC title to start the year is tough. Regardless, I think we'll get to at least 8 wins and be in store for a really solid bowl game.
