This is kind of picking up on the thread below but it's also inspired by the article we're running tomorrow about open jobs on defense. There are five open starting jobs, by my count, and we'll talk about that tomorrow, but these are the six returning starters:
Rashad Weaver
Amir Watts
Elias Reynolds
Dane Jackson
Jason Pinnock
Damar Hamlin
I don't know about you, but I think that's a really good group. Weaver, Jackson and Pinnock are top-five players on the team, regardless of position. Watts hasn't lived up to his billing yet, in my opinion, but I think he has shown enough flashes to give confidence. Hamlin has developed into a really steady player in the secondary. And I thought Reynolds showed a lot of improvement from his playing time last season; he should be a solid middle linebacker this year.
