Perhaps an opportunity here. Top 100 commit Eric Davis (SG) is from Saginaw, MI where he played for The Family AAU team. Isn't that where Smoke has a connection?
Well, except for that National Championship Mack Brown won at Texas. And the NC runner up. And a Fiesta Bowl win. And 9 straight 10 win seasons. I'd take a whole lot of that nothing even if they should have won more with their talent.Originally posted by recruitsreadtheseboards:
Well Barnes always reminded me of the Mack Brown of college coaches. Just a lot of talent, but never really accomplishes anything.
Let's be serious, if you're Clemson why WOULDN'T you bring him back? He wasn't great there(sub-.500 ACC record) but he was better than anybody else they had come through recently.Originally posted by thebadby2:
Ironically, I expect he'll get a lower level job at a solid place amd do well. I think he will do a lot better at a school with lower expectations-like the one he was at pre-Texas. .
It probably depends on who Texas hires. There's no guarantee Davis would want to be let out of his LOI or that Texas would do so anyway.Originally posted by mvk112:
Is NCSUs connection better than the guy who ran his AAU program? This is the exact scenario why you bring in a guy like Smoke.
I agree its an uphill battle against MSU & Michigan but Pitt should have a shot at this kid if Smoke is worthy of his position. AAU connection plus immediate playing time at an ACC school.... he left B1G country once, perhaps he does again.
Not sure UK is going to be too involved with Ulis & the Harrison's all likely to return, not to mention Briscoe in the mix.
