So with all of the speculation around shake-up. Solid offer to a hometown player who obviously values staying and playing at home after choosing Laurel Highlands over playing with Lebron's son in High School. Gallagher and Hood-Schifino are great pieces to build on.

Hopefully he wants to stay home for college and doesn't consider WVU, which is closer, "home."

Pitt is actually about 15 minutes closer then wvu, so they’re pretty much the same.

Per Google Maps, the WVU Coliseum is 41 minutes from LHHS. The Pete is 71 minutes. Not that that makes a big difference. Just saying. A tiny bit easier for the fam to get to Morganhole.

Did you read his quotes. He has always been a Pitt fan and was praying for an offer. It would appear Pitt has a far greater chance than WVU as it stands right now.

No way huggy bear is there in 4-5 years

He’s gotta stroke out sooner or later, unfortunately. Love him as a coach.

Huggy is actually in better shape now than he's been the last 5 years.Of course that means nothing in life.He and me might have the big one before St Patty's Day but I hope not.If he stays relatively healthy he'll stay 5 more, bwdik. It's about 35 minutes from Gallagher's

house to the coliseum which means absolutely nothing.

"I’ve always been a Pitt fan since I was a little kid. Like I said, they’ll definitely be one of my top schools but right now I’m waiting to see which other schools offer but Pitt will be right there.”

OK, so he's a Pitt fan, not a WVU fan so that's good. We are in good shape unless he gets to be blue blood level and I dont think he will be that good. I mean if UNC or Kansas or someone offer, forget it, but if its us, WVU, Ohio State, Villanova, and Georgetown for example, we could be ok.....well as long as NC State doesnt enter the sweepstakes. Nobody stacks talent and gets so little out of it like NC State

Out of all the things you are misinformed about and grossly over exaggerate, NC state has got to be at the top of the list.

WHEN WILL YOU F’N REALIZE OUR PROGRAM HAS BEEN COMPLETELY DORMANT FOR 4 YEARS AND HAS NO RIGHT TO TALK $HIT ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE?!?! BECAUSE LITERALLY ANYBODY ELSE INCLUDING KEATTS IS FINISHING ABOVE US IN THE STANDINGS!!!

Including here and PSN, two really good article on Gallagher and his future. Being a realist and his recruitment is 2+ years away from possibly being over, I hope this "dram" offer is his dream offer. Not all prospects commit to their dream schools (think it happened a couple times over on FB in the past year).
I hope this off-season we get some more ACC caliber players and we make another jump in the ACC. Last year, 3 wins got us 2nd to last place and this year 6 wins got us 2nd to the last place. Wish we could've had a couple back - WF, Louisville and some stupid slow starts a la Miami, Cuse and probably a few others.
And also, we don't truly know how "BAD" it was after Stallings and Capel came in. Boeheim made mention of it last time they played, how Pitt was rock bottom. It's a multi-year rebuild and we've shown flashes, so hopefully next year is at least the NIT then.

Or if Penn St offers him for fb.

Last year, we finished tied with ND for last place. This year, we finished tied with Wake and UNC for last place. So that's 3 straight last place finishes for Pitt.

We are still at rock bottom and if we have an exodus, its going to take longer to climb out of this.

I wouldn’t want anything to do with their travel schedule. Nothing

That's the thing, if he wants to stay close to home, even though Morgantown is 30 minutes closer, they cant drive to any road games if he goes there. In the ACC, the only places further than realistic driving distances are BC, GT, Miami, and FSU

Actually an exodus may accelerate our improvement because a large exodus would be ignited by Capel, not the players.

Yea, he is from Western PA so he probably goes to PSU, OSU, ND, or Michigan for football
Dad is a football nut. Likes basketball to keep him in shape for football. Wears a rodney’s dad T shirt with pictures of him on it to games. Will probably leverage basketball to jumpstart his football recruitment. He’s right around 5’10, will be interesting if he gets to dad’s height.

OK, then PSU or OSU football it is!

I don't think he's going to end up with those types of offers as a football player. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think football is where the kid's upside is. There are 2023s in Pennsylvania who have offers from those types of schools, but Gallagher has a William and Mary offer for football right now, and his summers are going to be dominated by AAU circuits, not football camps.

No way to tell what the kids body will look like in a few yrs , but unless you have potential NFL talent and no potential NBA talent do you choose college Fb over Bb . Not that you can’t get lifelong injuries from Bb , but ....

I don’t disagree with you, except that having any type of football offer as a freshmen is insane. And his dad is nuts about it. Hopefully he can overcome that

Depends. Lots of 6’1-6’2 b-ball players with minimal slots half going to kids we’ve never seen in Europe. Not nearly as many 6’1-6’2 Corners who have offers as freshmen.
