He's wrong about Pitt. But not far off on PSU. Win final 3 and they are a lock. Win 2 of 3 and they have a decent chance. Beating an RPI 162 team which happens to be Quad 1 due to lovely NET really helps them.
If it wasn't for Pantherlair, I'd have no idea Cook was on the radio. I can't stand media sports talk, never listen to it. These guys should be humbled by the fact that they get paid to do what most guys do while sitting on a barstool. Instead, most of them are some of the most arrogant people imaginable.

And Collier runs a story today about how bad college basketball is because of the Alabama incident. I guess they all were busy getting their finishing touches on a column explaining why Trubisky is still valuable to the Stillers.

I honestly believe that crew doesn't know if a basketball is stuffed or inflated. Zeise is about the only one who likes basketball, the rest are just Steeler lapdogs, or romanticizing about watching baseball in the beautiful PNC Park, even though the Pirates stink.

We’ve been through this a million times. Cook and Starkey absolutely love Pitt hoops. We’ve cited specific examples numerous times…but maybe it was on the pay board and not this one. They are just low info individuals when it comes to Pitt hoops, which for high profile sports media guys is very embarrassing.

I disagree. Most of them know they have a great job. So many people in pgh can't handle any negative reporting on their teams. Yes, they are wrong sometimes and right sometimes. Just like all of us. I can't understand the what seems like hatred for people just talking sports.

Yeah Cook is a Pitt hoops fan. He just doesn't know much about basketball. That's part of the problem with generic all-sport talk shows, like how are you going to follow NCAAF, NCAAB, NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and maybe even other stuff with any level of expertise? Many of these guys go a mile wide but an inch deep (usual exception for the NFL which they all seem to know we'll.)
It’s easy to get on cook because of his Heisman snub and other things. But Pitt hoops isn’t one of them. When it comes to hoops, he’s guilty of being lazy and nothing else.
Exactly. I listen almost daily from my car and he’s always positive. But I often cringe at things he says because it comes out of ignorance because he simply doesn’t follow it as closely as we do here. And that’s ok…except he is paid to talk about it, and he should at least know a little more about it.
Zeise was there, I saw him at the half walking around and I chatted with him.
