On his show today, Ron said to the PG beat writer that he thinks Pitt is in “real trouble” if they lose just 1 of these last 3 games. Meanwhile he prob thinks PSU is a lock after barely beating 11-17 Ohio State

Like Pitt, I think if they finish 3-2 including tourney they're in.He's wrong about Pitt. But not far off on PSU. Win final 3 and they are a lock. Win 2 of 3 and they have a decent chance. Beating an RPI 162 team which happens to be Quad 1 due to lovely NET really helps them.
Does 2-2 get Pitt to Dayton if it’s a loss in the quarterfinals ?Like Pitt, I think if they finish 3-2 including tourney they're in.

He's lazy and stubborn and isn't very open minded to logical arguments. He lost me when he didn't vote for Larry Fitzgerald for the Heisman.
That made no sense.
I think probably Pitt 1-2 1-1If you go just by NET, PSU's resume is pretty good but the bracketologists hate them. Like they should be WAY higher than UNC.
You are saying Pitt needs to go 2-1 + 1-1 in the ACCT just to get in? I disagree. 1-2 + 0-1 and they're in Dayton. That's still 21-11 and a lot of Q1/2/road wins.
I think probably Pitt 1-2 1-1
That and his pathetic article regarding the “Healing Can Begin” because PS went back to playing football during the Ped State Scandal. He lost me when he didn't vote for Larry Fitzgerald for the Heisman.
That made no sense.
Of course he thinks Penn State is a lock haha. If they were in last place he'd still say they'd have a good shot of getting in. And to Pitt? Shocker Ron not liking their chances lolol. Too damn funny this guy is such a tool.On his show today, Ron said to the PG beat writer that he thinks Pitt is in “real trouble” if they lose just 1 of these last 3 games. So was Bill Burns. Saw him at Poli always at the bar drinking. Red nose. Saw Hillgrove there a lot too drinking.Cook is a drunk
Cook is a drunk
I heard that nonsense - it was embarrassing. He said he disagreed with the guy saying Pitt was basically a lock - and agree with the other slog they had on the show earlier in the week that Pitt was a bubble team at best.On his show today, Ron said to the PG beat writer that he thinks Pitt is in “real trouble” if they lose just 1 of these last 3 games. Yeah...but they were at least credible in their day!So was Bill Burns. Saw him at Poli always at the bar drinking. Red nose. Saw Hillgrove there a lot too drinking.

It has to be frustrating living in Pittsburgh and have to deal with the WORST SPORT MEDIA in a metro area - in the country. I understand a city having one or two hacks....Pittsburgh has about 10 at minimum...just simply clueless or gutless, take your choice.
I heard Cook say he didn't get a gig on ESPN's Sports Reporters because he refused to follow the NBA - you can't make this up. And look at some of the names you mentioned...ALL HACKS!!I honestly believe that crew doesn't know if a basketball is stuffed or inflated. Zeise is about the only one who likes basketball, the rest are just Steeler lapdogs, or romanticizing about watching baseball in the beautiful PNC Park, even though the Pirates stink.
Then add to the fact the many nitters in the media, and total trolls/idiots like Kabolly, Madden, Benz, and it really is a cast of losers.
We’ve been through this a million times. Cook and Starkey absolutely love Pitt hoops. We’ve cited specific examples numerous times…but maybe it was on the pay board and not this one. They are just low info individuals when it comes to Pitt hoops, which for high profile sports media guys is very embarrassing.

Who knows why. Maybe he was there or maybe he had another assignment or something personally going on. But the guy has always said that Sellouts at the Pete are the best thing in Pittsburgh sports.strange way to show love by not attending the biggest home game in 7 years
Probably some truth to that. He loves his bar stool though.Cook doesn't love anything anymore.
He needs to retire.
I disagree. Most of them know they have a great job. So many people in pgh can't handle any negative reporting on their teams. Yes, they are wrong sometimes and right sometimes. Just like all of us. I can't understand the what seems like hatred for people just talking sports. If it wasn't for Pantherlair, I'd have no idea Cook was on the radio. I can't stand media sports talk, never listen to it. These guys should be humbled by the fact that they get paid to do what most guys do while sitting on a barstool. Instead, most of them are some of the most arrogant people imaginable.
Exactly, cook has always said HE LOVED pitt hoops. Loved going to the games. Definitely a top destination of his career.Who knows why. Maybe he was there or maybe he had another assignment or something personally going on. But the guy has always said that Sellouts at the Pete are the best thing in Pittsburgh sports.
Lol they have lives outside of pgh sports. That's just strange to say.strange way to show love by not attending the biggest home game in 7 years
It’s easy to get on cook because of his Heisman snub and other things. But Pitt hoops isn’t one of them. When it comes to hoops, he’s guilty of being lazy and nothing else.Lol they have lives outside of pgh sports. That's just strange to say.
Exactly. I listen almost daily from my car and he’s always positive. But I often cringe at things he says because it comes out of ignorance because he simply doesn’t follow it as closely as we do here. And that’s ok…except he is paid to talk about it, and he should at least know a little more about it.Yeah Cook is a Pitt hoops fan. He just doesn't know much about basketball. That's part of the problem with generic all-sport talk shows, like how are you going to follow NCAAF, NCAAB, NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and maybe even other stuff with any level of expertise? Many of these guys go a mile wide but an inch deep (usual exception for the NFL which they all seem to know we'll.)
Zeise was there, I saw him at the half walking around and I chatted with him.So the biggest home game in years and the PG doesn't bother to send any of their esteemed columnists, Cook, Starkey, Zeise or Collier. Not like there was much else going on in the city yesterday. And Collier runs a story today about how bad college basketball is because of the Alabama incident. I guess they all were busy getting their finishing touches on a column explaining why Trubisky is still valuable to the Stillers.
Sorry Ron Cook is not a Pitt fan.Yeah Cook is a Pitt hoops fan. He just doesn't know much about basketball.
