The Pitt basketball team is No. 25 in ESPN's version of the RPI rankings after beating Syracuse at home, Yahoo has Pitt at No. 23 in their version as does CBS.

Joe Lunardi currently has Pitt at No. 21 which would be a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tourney. Jerry Palm has Pitt as a No. 6 seed in his latest bracketolgy forecast.

The ESPN/USA today coaches' poll has Pitt ranked No. 25 in the country. The Associated Press has Pitt at No. 29 although it would not surprise me if we move up when the new poll is published early next week.

The Pomeroy computer rankings have Pitt at No. 22.

So Pitt is ranked somewhere between No. 21 and No. 29 depending on which ranking system you want to use. Seems fair right now. We might not know more until Pitt hits the road to play Notre Dame and Louisville late next week.
