Rumors are flying in South Bend this afternoon that ND quarterback Book got caught cheating on a test and has been suspended.

Didn’t some other Qb at Notre Dame get suspended a whole season for cheating

Get your stuff together, domers

Honestly, their backup looked better even than Book. Jurkevic is like 4th on the depth chart, and he would be starting here... I dont think this would help too much.

You obviously have not watched any ND games. The difference in the ND offense when Wimbush is at quarterback and when Book is at the controls is like night and day. ND with Wimbush has an offense of 5 and with Book it is a 10. If Book can not play it will be a huge advantage for Pitt.

Some schools cover up child rape. Others students getting murdered by head football coaches. Something tells me he plays.

What if the allegation is false? Or has that been decided here already?

This rumor started on a sports website called "Bar Stool Sports" and then spread all over twitter like a wild fire. Two ND sport sites just now reported that their sources have told them that the rumor is false. Looks like it was a case of some site wanting to get hits.

No question they have been much better with Book under center. problem for Pitt is if wimbush is starting the rest of the team is going to be ready to play. With book there is always a chance they show up expecting to win and go through the motions.

The story of what happened has been now reported by some other students who were in the class. It did not involve a test or term paper. Each week the students are required to do some outside reading that supplements the lectures. At the end of the week they have submit a page summary of what they read - basically homework.

Evidently last week the professor stated that he had learned that some of the students copied word for word from a cliff notes site. The professor said that if those involved would walk up to the front and hand in their paper, he will simply give them a zero for the weekly homework and that would be the end of it. If they do not and he finds out that they cheated, then he will give them an F for the course.

Apparently 8 students walked to the front of the class and handed in their assignment and were given a zero. Ian Book was one of those 8 students. Some of the other students in the class told their friends and roommates what had happened and because Book was involved the rumors began and made their way to the internet.

All I can say is - read your damn assignment and write a one page summary. Just how hard is it to do this.

I was positive this wasn’t even a legitimate rumor as the game would’ve been temporarily taken off the board in Vegas. There were no pointspread fluctuations either.

After the shenanigans with the Hawaii QB situation last week no way the books were going to get caught with their pants down again.

So in actuality, if this version is true, the kid showed a little humility and honor.

ND takes cheating very seriously. Ask Darrin Walls.

We take it seriously too, but I believe they have a one offense and suspension policy, although I’m not 100% sure about that. We suspend students after 2 offenses.

Actually, it wasn't just cheating on a test. He also robbed a bank, rolled a special needs student, tried a rape a 15 year high school girl, and clubbed some baby seals. LOL, you'all should be on the Democratic committee questioning Kavanaugh LOL!

Go kiss your purple headed monsters bag... mentioning a 15 year old girl.. great pride for a Catholic learning establishment., keep making your parent(s) proud.

Should try to get the officials name..probably O'Brien, O'Malley or some other kiss my Blarney Stone 4 leaf clover midget with an f'd up beard..
Find the Box Score for the game. They usually list the officials. That call would be the Side Judge or Field Judge. I forget which side of the field the call was made, but that would narrow it down to who it was.

I'll attempt to get the scope from my man George HL at the end of the month for his take..

Umm, no I've had this login for over five years. The few posts it shows is on the Pitt board. Nice work Sherlock lol.

Ya, that makes a lot of sense.....errrrr NOT!

In you infinite wisdom other than the wrong call on the field was it pass interference and on the next play was it an illegal pick pass to the tight end?

Dependent on your response will determine if you stay.. bye now !

How long ago was that? Yes bad calls happen sometimes it's called college football. Let it go! Never leave the game in the hands of thr refs. Im sure ND has never gotten a bad call!

There are three referee moments in my entire life of football fandom that still bother me
1. 13-9 game phantom hold calls in 2007. That one a legitimate conspiracy
2. That phantom pass interference call in the animated gif.
3. The two Notre Dame players with the same number on the field goal game.

I don't usually complain about refs, partially because I have reffed before and partially because a lot of fans are blinded by bias. But those incidents still drive me nuts.
