Here Karl has a story about Che Nwabuko no longer being with the program:

A Pitt running back is no longer with the program.

The one notable absence on the Pitt spring roster was Che Nwabuko, and the university confirmed Tuesday that he is no longer on the roster.

Nwabuko — a 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back from Austin, Tx. — made the switch to running back last season after spending his first two seasons with the program as a wide receiver.

He played in seven games as a reserve running back last season, scoring his first career touchdown on a 57-yard rush against Youngstown State. But an injury forced him to miss time at the end of the season.

Nwabuko arrived in Pittsburgh as a three-star recruit in the class of 2022, choosing the Panthers over a handful of Power Four programs. He was an electric wideout at Manor High and turned a standout track career into a spot on the team at Pitt.

He’s been the biggest two-sport athlete at Pitt in recent years.

He finishes his Pitt career with nine carries for 98 yards and a touchdown, two receptions for 15 yards and two kickoff returns for 21 yards. He competed in five indoor meets with the track & field team in 2022-23 and two more in 2023-24. He set a personal best in the 60-meter with a 6.71 and in the 200-meter at the ACC Championships with a 21.08.

Pitt is returning All-American Desmond Reid at running back, with Juelz Goff, Derrick Davis Jr. (who suffered a nasty injury at the end of last season) and early enrollee Ja'Kyrian Turner in the mix. Synkwan Smith and Jaylin Brown will arrive this summer.
