I was watching the game with my buddy who played a little ball in his day and I commented about how good Moss looked, how good Ollison looked the few touched he had, Aston getting nice gains even with his limited athletic ability and obviously Conner being Conner..... And he goes, you just listed every rb on the team. Ever think that maybe the OL is better than you think and is just opening up big holes that anybody could run through? I thought they were good, but maybe I am underestimating how dominant they really are.

What say you?

The OL Coach John Peterson deserves much respect and credit. OC Canada Is spreading It around and good teams overcome problems, but the Offense has been vastly improved from any of the previous 20 Years. Peterman is a far better QB under Canada. The Game Day Planning is excellent and every game has been over 30 Points except Nova at 28? Pitt Wideouts now coming out and learning the game, even with 2 major injuries to Upperclassman in Ford and Challingsworth!

This is the first Pitt Team that I have seen since 1980s that the OL has been consistent, dependable, and executes not only Opening Holes for the RBs but Protecting the QB! The Third Down Performance is also great and few Sacks and playing many New Young Players that could make mistakes and don't as much under previous coaches. Very glad Pederson was fired and bought out. I am very happy Chryst and Graham left Pitt, they were inconsistent coaches for Pitt, and never wanted to stay at Pitt.

Coach Pat Narduzzi has to be given much credit for bringing in such a Staff on Offense at OC, OL, TE, WR, RB, and QB! Credit Chaney for bringing in Peterman and playing him too.

The Defense played far better too, without 4 Injured Starters? We will know how good this Pitt Offense is in the next 4 games, but the First 6 Games have been terrific! Again, this Pitt's Pat & Staff with a New OC 19th Game?

Just look over all the Young Talent coming back next year?

I think this line's really good. I saw one scout grade Biz as a possible 1st rounder. I would imagine Dorian Johnson gets drafted. And I think the sky's the limit for O'Neill.

However I think Conner and Moss are both very good. And Conner was a stud previously so there's no denying his ability. Along with others I think between the cancer and his knee he may not have completely regained his form but he's still very good.

You serious? Just watch them.

Without good O line play it doesn't matter how good the backs are, you can't run the ball effectively. This is maybe the most basic football principle.

Yeah the one thing Chryst did exceedingly well was establish the OL.

What success this team has had the last 2 years can be attributed to them. Both Biz and DJ will be playing on Sunday, and I wouldn't be surprised to see both of them start early.

Agree- and If he stays healthy and plays through his senior year, O'Neill will be our highest OL draft pick since Fralic.

So how good do you think the oline is? Top 5 in all college football? Maybe the best Pitt oline ever? Is it all them? How much credit do you give the rb's?

Not the best OL ever obviously, but pretty damn good.

Pitt deep at the RB position, but doubt any of them will play at the next level, Connor included.

Both are very good. OL is the best since 79--81 era.......... and nice group of running backs with different talent sets that have been utilized nicely.

I wouldn't say George Aston has "limited athletic ability" .. of course he isn't as fast as the running backs, he's a fullback. He is the best BLOCKER at that position since Bobby Hutton in 1976. (yes he saw plenty of time there in 76) The kid plays on all the kick teams and has multiple tackles, and a blocked punt. A high school coach at the Marshall game mentioned "what other team runs jet sweeps to a fullback"...well none. That alone shows he has certainly something more than limited athletic ability. More importantly he has DESIRE and a football mentality, which no one can teach. I will enjoy watching him two more years, knowing he is the lead blocker for whoever Pitt has at running back.

It's definitely the OL. Our RBs are good, but they are not "make-people-miss" type RBs. They break some tackles because of their size when they have a head of steam.

Now to his credit, Chawntez Moss did juke a guy out yesterday in the open field a la Shady - loved that and would like to see more of it. But it was noteworthy because it is rare these days at Pitt.

The OL players are obviously very good, but even they can get blown up if our opponents sniff out the play, which they tend to do in the second half after they've seen our plays a few times. I continue to be disappointed that we don't have some plays to counter this tendency...

Been a wild six games!

Go Pitt.

We definitely have an above average oline. Thank goodness, because I'm not sure Peterman would be even serviceable without one. i thought Moss was the better back yesterday, so I'm a bit perplexed as to why Conner got the 2nd half carries. I thought they would split them like last week. Hope Moss is healthy.
