Rutgers fires coach flood and ad

I am shocked, just shocked, just wondering why it did not happen sooner? Another New Coach to take on Franklin just like at Maryland! Not a Pitt Problem!

Rutgers and Maryland went a combined 2 and 14 in conference this season. So another two cupcake wins given to UPS every year, to go with their OC cupcake wins. Jimmy is secure and can continue to crow...

Go Pitt.

IMO Rutgers got this right. Now they just need to bring in an AD who can find a good coach. Their recruiting class is going to take a hit.

Depends whom they hire and Maryland as well as Rutgers are good recruiting grounds full of talent. O'Brien even said he would consider the job? They just became Big Ten Programs they always recruited well in Maryland & Rutgers, and play every year, a good coach can make it tougher on Franklin.

Maryland and Rutgers with Frigden and Schiano had some Top 25 Teams.

OBrien shot that down the day it came out...

Wow, there are an awful lot of openings this year. Apparently Fuentes is off the market and going to VT.
New Coaches at VT, Miami and UVA is now a Pitt problem too, But I am happy to leave that up to Narduzzi!

Character Matters and Confidence comes from it and spresds to Recruits & Players!

They are Scooby Snacks for the elite teams and the bones the conference threw PSU.
Jimmy still has Urban, Mark and Jim to look up to.

Maryland has 4 Rivals 4-Star recruits and Rutgers has 1 Rivals 4-Star recruits.

Was Pitt after any of these recruits.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
I have no clue, just know Maryland and Rutgers for a few years were in the Top 25 a few times, and shows a better Coach may be able to get it done again.

Wannstedt did pretty good recruiting in New Jersey but I am not aware about much out of Maryland, by Pitt at any time except in Basketball? WVU plays them often and PSU every year now, so this impacts on them more than Pitt!

I wonder if their fans would rather have the B10 money or wins in the AAC?
Rutgers right now wouldn't be winning in the NEC. It really is remarkable what Schiano did there, one of the most amazing coaching jobs of all time. Rutgers was legitimately good back then, pretty much the only time in school history. It did not take long after him leaving for Rutgers to fall back to their usual ways of being a complete joke.

Just read that Flood was fired at the State High School Championship game via phone. Had flown to the game via helicopter returned then was locked out of the building. Rutgers is one screwed up university.

That's cold...did they try to kick him out of the helicopter mid-flight then bill him for the jetfuel?

The school president was quoted in the article he didn't know he was going recruiting. I surmise he fired the AD in the morning first then had planned on firing Flood shortly after. But you would think he would have asked SID or someone hey where's coach flood before he took off on the helicopter.
