In the latest Sagarin rankings....
http://sagarin.com/sports/cbsend.htm
We have dropped to #20 from the #15 or so ranking we had before. This after the debacle at the Yum and our win over BC. Yeah, was concerned it might be worse but this is about what you could expect.
After that, in the ACC, there are the five teams that have consistently been ranked above us, UNC, Ville, UVA, Miami and Duke, whose rankings are down after the losses to Clemson and the like, and then there is ND which is now at #28 after their big win @Duke.
These teams are all looking like NCAA Tourney teams though it is unknown if any of them can compete for a national championship.
After that, there is the group of ACC teams 'still in the running' for an NCAA bid, though there is a significant drop off from ND.
This includes FSU (#44... our next road game), Cuse (#50), Clemson (#51.. our road game after FSU and they have been beating anybody and everybody at home), and GT (#57). If one or two of these teams are able to pick it up they may indeed get a bid. We got road games against all 4 of them and none of them are gonna be easy.
That's 11 of the 15 ACC teams. After that there are the 'also rans', NCS (#85), VT (#95), and Wake (#107). Good teams should beat them at home but they can be dangerous on the road as UVA found out at VT. We got all three of these at home but get VT on the road late in the season.
Then of course, the REALLY BAD TEAM which is BC at a woeful #194. Yeah, that is WORSE than DePaul used to be in the OBE.
I think the thing about the ACC this year, is the teams in the bottom half have mostly gotten better, which makes the league much more competitive rather than a couple of teams at the top and also-rans after that.
