Saints vs Rams Missed Call is Getting interesting

“I may never have seen a less of a pass interference in my life. I mean where is it?”

-Jim Nantz on the Joe Haden PI in the end zone.

You’re absolutely correct in you’re recollection but two wrongs don’t make a right. That’s why the NFL is so frustrating. They’ll never get it exactly right.
That's right. But when I hear idiots say they should replay the end of that game from where the PI should have been called I say OK, right after they replay the Saints-Steelers from where we get the ball first down instead of the Saints getting it at the one.

Sorry if this was mentioned since I didn't read the whole thread, but......It just amazes me that a billion dollar organization like the NFL relies on people who work as teachers, lawyers, cooks, etc as their main profession and are deciding outcomes of these games as a part time job. Almost like the WPIAL. Pay for full time refs. They should be in film study all week in order to get better consistency. Maybe then they wouldn't need so many reviews.

There have been many missed calls, but that was one of the worse ever in the NFL. Actually it is par for the course for some of the things we have seen in Pitt games. The phantom hold on Shady's TD against WVU. The total bullcrap of the 2012 ND game. UNC holding like crazy in this years game. We are used to bad officiating.

the saints had the tie breaker..what you are forgetting is that the Saints mailed in their last game and lost at home playing third stringers.....had they needed to beat the Cam Newton-less Panthers at home in a meaningful game they most surely would have done so and ended up with the exact same 13-3 record.
That’s true, nothing is guaranteed but that is likely a win. Brees and Co. didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard in Carolina, but they’re a different team in that dome.

They still got a ton of help clinching home field early though, and then more help in the championship game. They probably should’ve been behind on that drive where the PI was missed. Despite the awful non-call I don’t really feel that bad for them, the NFL just has a serious officiating problem.

The crew in the NFC Championship was the same crew from the Steelers-Chargers game. It’s absolutely ridiculous they were even still employed after that, let alone officiating a conference championship game.

The NFL hasn't said a word about this.
I think they're just giving it time and hope it goes away.

This is getting very complicated at this point.

How cool would it be if the Saints had Stevie Wonder in a ref shirt sing the National Anthem at their opener next year...

Sweet indeed. But they're likely already getting inundated with threats of fines and suspensions by the NFL for the public biitching they've already done.

Terminate an official or two. It's sorta like public hangings which was an attempt to convey a message.

With Patriots fatigue and the absolute marring of the NFC Championship game it will be interesting to to see how the ratings of this game stack up to last year’s. I know personally that while I’m sick of the Patriots I am still going to watch because it’s still the Super Bowl.

Everyone is still talking about the Saints. I cannot believe more hasn’t been made of the Chief who lined up in the neutral zone. He absolutely cost his team a victory and that had nothing to do with the refs unless you want to argue that they let that call go more often than not.

funny, the super bowl was pretty much Chiefs vs Saints until one blown call that took away an assured victory and one correct call on stupidity that took away an assured victory...

It's insult to injury... or injury to insult, or both. Get reamed by the officials, premature end to your season... then when you dare to gripe about it in public (when asked about it incessantly in mandatory press conferences the league forces you to have after losses), the league b-slaps (in the finest spirit of Ray Rice) you. Your org, coaches and players get slapped with big fines for criticizing officials, and if they persist, they'll risk suspensions. Hey, I understand why, you can't have the hoodlum antics of South America Soccer. But shouldn't that crew lose their jobs?

By the way, the NFL just announced that the Rams guy is being fined for a helmet-to-helmet hit. So the refs missed 2 calls on that play.
