Man from his RS Freshman year and the INT vs. Clemson to maybe not starting his senior year?

Career reminds me of Lafayette Pitts

What gives with the kid?

Seems to be a 2 way battle with him and Pine. But both will play per PN.

Gary which coach is incompetent and why? He still gets a lot of playing time and might
even start this coming year. I'm curious as to your thinking.
Rob Harley. Hasn't recruited a lick inspite of being named recruiting coordinator.

Last season 2 walk ons started at linebacker. Zeise ran a 4.73 on pro day. Enough said.

Ok, thanks.

Incompetent position coach
Noone is guaranteed a spot, players earn their spots, and IMO this is a good sign for PITT football.
My take is PITT football is recruiting better players who are pushing the starters. Look at what happened at Alabama at the QB position.
Every position should be challenged two deep.
That's the first sign of a good team and a good program!
PITT coaches in all sports seem to be the first people sent to the "firing squad."

Go PITT & CSU Rams!

When we have Alabama or Clemon talent, then yes, i'll agree. This team has trotted out garbage at LB for about 10 years now.

If a young man puts in time and effort to play college football then I for one find it difficult to accept the notion that he is garbage. He may not have the natural ability or talent of a future All America but it does not mean that he doesn’t work, sweat and push himself to be the best he can possibly be.

Ok, i'll rephrase it.

He's a hard working student who is the best available to Pitt, but his talent and performance is below what Pitt needs to win.

with that said, they obviously have more knowledge than i do but on the surface it seems like brightwell is a smaller lb and did well playing out of position 2 yrs ago at mike... so he just seems like a natural fit at star

Not fast enough

He's small for the inside and not quick enough for the outside. He's probably 5'10, 225.

Tough, hard-nosed kid, good football player, nose for the ball, makes instinctive plays, which is more than most of our guys in that group can say. He's got all the right stuff mentally, just not ideal physically. No matter who is listed as starters he will still see plenty of reps, he;s too good of a football player to have on the sideline.

I would may him in the middle
