Belle Vernon (12-1) vs. Northwestern Lehigh (15-0)
Belle Vernon won a memorable state title game last season, 9-8 over Neumann-Goretti and is looking for a repeat. The player to watch is obviously Quinton Martin, who is the top-ranked player in the state and is of course heading to Penn State. Braden Laux is committed to Eastern Michigan as an athlete. He plays QB and is just a solid HS player who can do a little of everything. I think Pitt had some level of interest in him for a time. I couldn't track down any D1 players from Northwestern Lehigh, but they really haven't had many close games and are 15-0, so I don't think it'll be a pushover game for Belle Vernon.

North Allegheny (13-1) vs. St. Joe's Prep (12-1)
Saint Joe's Prep has won seven state championships since 2013 and has been an absolute powerhouse since joining the PIAA. Teams have rarely been able to step up to Saint Joe's and this is more of a national program than just an ordinary team from Pennsylvania. The team's only loss this year is to IMG Academy by 17-13. They've played teams from New Jersey, Maryland, and Florida. Prep is outscoring teams 178-28 in four playoff games. They have a million D1 recruits. Pitt has offered a number of them, but has never had much luck cracking this program for whatever reason. Pitt has landed some Imhotep prospects and a few other players from Philly, but never from this school.
North Allegheny leaned into the Private/Public debate with Pittsburgh Central Catholic earlier this year, so they'll be fine playing with the nothing-to-lose, underdog mentality. Cameron Chmura (Marshall) and Daniel Sellers (Richmond) are two seniors who have made commitments. Tyree Alualu has multiple offers from MAC programs and 2025 linemen Jack Yatchenko will eventually get some offers. Another player to watch is Khiryn Boyd. He is a really good athlete at WR and CB and should be getting recruited more by someone.
