I think it's probably a good thing. They're not just going to hand it to him, so the guy with the bigger leg earning the job should be a positive. Now, this opinion is subject to change if his first FG attempt ends up wide right and in my lap.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Not that I ever felt completely comfortable with Scarton but this should mean that Sauls is a big improvement. You don't make this change if it was close.

I felt like it was headed in this direction, perhaps even inevitable, due to Sauls being offered a scholarship out of high school. Heck, I was surprised he wasn’t “the guy” last year.

With that being said, I worry less about Sauls actually performing and more about the holder. Sauls is left-footed and adjusting the placement to compensate for that is trickier than it sounds. Hopefully there’s no hiccups next Thursday.

Ya like I bumped this because I remembered what posters said something so I could play gotcha….

Just thought it was a risky move that worked out well for our football team and wanted to give the coach kudos.
