The saving of scholarships makes little to no sense to me. College basketball has changed and is not going back. Every year you will start over rebuilding a team. Players will be coming and going constantly especially with a program like pitts. Get a real good player he will leave for pros or better options. Develop a player and he will use the grad transfer route so we will be snatching players from programs below us to replace the ones who leave us. Welcome to the new world of college hoops don’t worry about saving scholarships worry about finding players to fill them.

I think we’re going to end up with 13 scholarship guys. I’m not sure if we end up filling the 14th spot for the Sibande free scholarship.
Pitt is not willingly saving scholarships. If we have less than 14 on the roster, its because we couldn't get enough good players. You are correct in that everyone is going to have to rebuild every year anyway because everyone's going to lose 2-4 guys to the portal.
In the end changes nothing, best coaches and recruiters get the best players each year from every Ave, the others do not , in the end just more parts same results
