I have no reason not to believe you, but I'd like to read the actual details because libel in that situation is VERY hard to prove.

The incidents mentioned by the judge in the recent insurance ruling talk about assistant coaches in 1987 and 1988. If Schiano coaching stint at PSU started in 1990 as noted above, then it was another coach who was involved.

Yeah. I saw that thread on BWI. Claims Scott Paterno is making a list and checking it twice.
Wants to sue us but won't go after the University that conveniently threw his dad under the bus? But that's none of my business.
No one associated with Penn State during that time is going to sue anyone for any message board post.
Bring it on. To defend a suit like that would require access to all of the records that PSU wants to keep buried and away from discovery. This is why they settle the allegations that the BWI crazies say are without merit. (Well, that or all allegations are true in which case there is no defamation because it is, well, true.) Seriously, wouldn't any of you love to have discovery and subpoena power to defend a suit like that? The book and screenplay revenues would easily cover your costs.
That is why the insurance suit is a big deal. If PSU doesn't just give in, the insurance company is going to get to open the closets where the skeletons are kept. That is not going to end well for Dear Ole State. And believe it that the new regime at PSU will sacrifice the legacy of the dead guy to try to save the institution.

I don't know if it would matter, the grand jury subpoena'd PoSU records in a criminal investigation and didn't receive anything incriminating from the university.
You have to wonder about a university that intentionally hid records from a grand jury and failed to properly file their Cleary reports. Do you really think they would self report a minor recruiting violation or academic fraud? They have lied and covered up for so long, they have no idea what is truth and what is a sham.
Keep in mind: If it wasn't for a single honest administrative assistant revealing the existence of the secret JS file to the Freeh group, those scumbags would have gotten away with it. Very scary that they came so close. An independent investigation by some hard working clear thinking professionals and one employee who wasn't completely morally bankrupt. The rest were still too obsessed with maintaining the cash cow's immaculate image. Only one human who cared about the welfare of children more than the old grump. Pathetic!!!!

I never showered with a teacher, coach or mentor...it's just plain effing ridiculous to pretend that's ok... And my kids won't be doing that either. It's assinine excuse making of the worst kind...
