A. McKee (LB) is moving on with his life’s work. With the addition of the Grad Transfer TE we are at 85.

Many assumed the staff would bring in some OL help. Seems unlikely now so it will be interesting to see what that group looks like coming out of camp.
The staff thinks the Grad Transfer OL from UM will start or at least be in the rotation. Not sure if they are looking at anyone else.

Hopefully play the young guys (Drake, Warren, Houy, Zubovic, Ford, Hargrove, Kradel) all deserve a shot at starting. Screw guys like Ulizio and Brown, those guys should be depth guys. We need a program for the future, not a 1 year stop gap.

You play the guy who gives you the best chance to win. Just like we did last year with Millin.

Well, I disagree with you. A coach needs to have vision beyond today, just like any leader of any team and company.
You play to win the game. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed in the coaching world and winning is the bottom line. Millin was a good player and made a positive impact.

Big,

I like your posts....but PN is coaching for his job this year and next.

He ( and we I guess) don't have the luxury of building for the future.

We need 8+ wins now

I agree with you. I think next year is his fire year if he doesn't get it done.

Personally, I don't think he has a shot in hell of winning 8 games this year. How I see things, he probably wins 6 games playing the 2 grad transfers and 5 if he plays the young guys. I don't think playing Ulizio and Brown on the OL makes them 2 games better this year. I do think playing the young OL could make Pitt 2 games better NEXT year.

He's gotta get out of the 6/7 rut and get into the 8 rut. Playing stop gaps from Rutgers etc and not developing your young guys won't get you there imo.

And thanks for the compliment, I enjoy your posts as well, I appreciate objective posters who don't feel the need to defend Pitt 24/7.
