Pitt hasn’t scored a touchdown in the second half since our game against Wake Forest. That’s 6 straight games with no touchdowns in the second half.

Miami
Clemson
Stanford
Virginia
Ohio
Penn State

Does that change this week?

It’s actually a much bigger problem than just those 6 games, they had major issues scoring in the 2nd half in multiple games early last year as well.

Also do not have a forced turnover in that same period.

I think part of that goes back to what we were sort of talking about over the weekend. When we are ahead this coaching staff's philosophy is to turtle up and to try not to screw things up rather than to go for the jugular and try to bury a team. And when they are behind but the game is close, like on Saturday, they don't go balls out to try to get they lead, they try to manage the game hoping that when the other guys do something wrong they will be close enough to take advantage of it. And what that ends up meaning is that if the other guys don't screw up we are in trouble.

It's a philosophy that leads you to think that kicking that field goal was a good idea. Or that punting from inside the opponent's 40 on 4th and short is the proper strategy.
