anyone know our opponent this year? Usually Jeff Goodman has a list out about now with all of them and the location. It looked like Indiana was playing @ Navy that's about the only one I have seen.

I heard a rumor that it is a pretty good team. If it is true, Pitt fans should be happy.

Obviously, Tom Crean never read Del's book: "The Absolute and Required Rules for College Basketball Secret Scrimmages."

You're learning well, grasshopper. There are many lessons ahead. Will be inJefferson Hills this evening visiting family. Go Leps!

My guess... is it is Cincinnati. WVU is the closest major program worth scrimmaging but it won't be them. Could in fact be almost anybody else as long as they are a major program and not in the ACC. I don't think we are necessarily on good terms with Nova and G'Town but you never know. Could be Temple I guess. The OTHER team would have to be interested in a scrimmage also so... really difficult to guess but IMO we are on good terms with Cincy. Played them at MSG a couple of years ago.

Yeah, could be RMU if you are talking about minimizing the travel time and playing against a major program is not a priority

Yeah, RMU would be a better guess than Cincy.

It's G-town.

Will there be any kind of game recap or stats, or at least some kind of write up, or will they just say the game happened and that's all we hear?

There won't be any acknowledgment from Pitt or G'town but national writers have a knack of getting information and tweeting it out.

It's the first time Pitt has done one of these so I wouldn't be surprised if Lair posters get information as well.

These have become kind of a running joke, as there isn't much out there in terms of publicity yet they're common knowledge to many and the results aren't particularly secretive. It's more of a jab at the NCAA than anything.

If you hear anything, you might hear "the team played well" or a new player looked good or something like that. I dont expect to hear anything. The NCAA is very strict on these scrimmages. They dont want them turning into exhibition games for profit down the road.

And they may not be played in a full mock game format like a regular game. Probably played in some mutually agreed format that the two head coaches commit to in advance. At least, I suspect so.

From what I've gathered in previous years, you might have two 10-15 minute halves with a running clock and then some situational work as well. They usually get described as "controlled scrimmages".
