if it were as easy for NFL players to enter/declare for the "portal" as it is for college players? I realize there is a salary cap in the NFL (and free agency), but I don't think that players in the NFL can just leave a team one year and then play for another the next. They would have to be cut first, traded, or be at the end of their contract, yes?
 
I see college football more going the MLB route. That way there is no parity like the NFL. If you can spend the most, you are more likely to win the most.

Almost like if college dropped the whole premise they are “student-athletes “ instead of employees- it would be simpler?!?
 
I am waiting for the first week to week mercenary, I am sorry, "student athlete". You know, Alabama plays Texas he signs with Alabama, 2 weeks Florida plays Georgia he plays for Florida, then ND host USC and he's on the Irish then Ohio State grabs him for the Michigan game. All the while his transcripts are in good order!!
